Moisture may accumulate and cause corrosion in the brake booster housing unit, which can result in reduced brake performance or brake failure.
  owners are advised not to drive their vehicles until the remedy has been performed. Dealers will remove the rubber sleeve, inspect the brake booster, and as necessary, replace the brake booster.   Mercedes-benz usa (mbusa) is recalling certain model year 2011 vehicles including e-class (212 platform), manufactured from july 2010 through february 2011, r-class (251 platform), manufactured from april 2010 through april 2011, ml-class (w164 platform), manufactured from january 2010 through march 2011, gl-class (x164 platform), manufactured from march 2010 through march 2011, and model year 2012 s-class (221 platform) vehicles. The diesel fuel filter may leak from the area around the heating component.

  Mercedes benz is recalling certain model year 2011 m-class, model w164, gl-class, model x164, e-class, model w212, r-class, and model v251vehicles. The o-ring may not have been properly lubricated in all cases. Lack of lubrication can lead to leakage of the fuel filter.

• Desiccated air bag inflator rupture investigation # EA21002

  From 2000 through 2017, takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("psan") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004l. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited. The rapid burning can cause the inflator to rupture during deployment, potentially causing serious or even fatal injury to vehicle occupants. See 2016 blomquist report at www.Nhtsa.Gov/sites/nhtsa.Gov/files/documents/expert_report-hrblomquist.Pdf.Consequently, all frontal inflators using propellant 2004 that do not contain a "desiccant" (a substance that traps and holds moisture) in us vehicles are under recall. These "non-desiccated" inflators either have been or are required to be replaced.In some cases, the remedy part for these recalled inflators was, or will be, an inflator using either propellant 2004 or 2004l that does contain a desiccant. None of these "desiccated" remedy parts (which were installed in older model year vehicles) are currently under recall for a degradation concern. Certain subsets of desiccated psan inflators using propellant 2004 for use as original equipment, however, have been recalled for a degradation concern. All takata inflators produced with propellant 2004l contain desiccant, and none of these desiccated inflators using propellant 2004l are under recall for a degradation concern. There have been no reported field ruptures in any non-recalled desiccated psan inflators.It is understood that desiccants fully saturate at some threshold, at which point any additional moisture will not be captured. This means the degradation process observed in non-desiccated inflators using propellant 2004 may also occur in non-recalled desiccated inflators using propellant 2004, assuming additional moisture enters the inflator and high temperature cycling occurs. Based on available information, desiccant saturation can occur within the first five years in the worst environments, and the time required for full saturation is affected by multiple factors. While no present safety risk has been identified, further work is needed to evaluate the future risk of non-recalled desiccated inflators using propellant 2004.Three entities -- takata (now known as tk global), the independent testing coalition, and exponent -- have been studying the long-term behavior of takata desiccated psan inflators using propellant 2004l (as well as 2004) in the presence of moisture and temperature cycling. The research efforts, which include development of predictive modeling techniques and field sample analysis, are ongoing. To date, none of the researchers have identified field evidence showing that propellant 2004l is undergoing a degradation process that leads to aggressive deployment and potential rupture. However, the time in service of such inflators remains short compared to that of the inflators using propellant 2004. Further study is needed to assess the long-term safety of desiccated inflators using propellant 2004l.The office of defects investigation is opening this investigation to examine whether a safety defect related to propellant degradation exists in non-recalled desiccated psan frontal inflators manufactured by takata. This investigation will require extensive information on takata production processes and surveys of inflators in the field. Lists of recall actions that may have used desiccated psan inflators as remedy parts, as well as the makes and models originally manufactured with them, is available with the downloadable version of this document (see nhtsa.Gov/recalls?Nhtsaid=ea21002 -- note this information is subject to change/revision as the investigation proceeds). Getting message " malfunctioning" and compressor cooling down even though changing front struts and making roaring noise when car is idle, and burnt smell inside car.

I was advised by mercedes 6 months ago that my air bag is defective--or prone to hazard in an accident. They said there is no remedy. I want the airbags deactivated but mercedes refuses

Had a oil change by mercedes dealer park my truck for a few weeks when i drove it i had a oil leak. I call mercedes to report it mercedes had it tow in .They say it was a oil cooler leak i only have 48,000 miles don't drive it all the time. Didn't have a leak until the oil change now they want me to pay for it.I had the truck park in my garage oil was on the floor in my garage i do have pictures of oil on the floor in my garage and around the engine where oil is coming from.

The left rear passenger seat belt is broken. The mechanism will not retract. When i spoke with the mercedes dealership they said they have been seeing this problem, but there is nothing that they can do. They only respond to recalls that nhtsa initiates. They would not replace the broken seat belt for free, because it is not under warranty anymore even though the car only has 37,000 miles, because it is 5 years old, the warranty was 50,000 or 4 years, whichever came first. We paid over $400 to replace the seatbelt because this is a definite safety issue that needed to be addressed immediately. We have pictures and the original part in our possession. We know this is a problem with this model and we hope you can issue a recall. Thank you.

Hello. My vehicle has experienced two severely elongated timing chains in 30,000 miles of driving. Total miles on the vehicle are 114,000, and the vehicle is a 2011. I have been advised that if the timing chain fails during driving, it will cause an engine stall, and may potentially cause seizure of the transmission and wheels, causing a severe safety hazard. At a cost of approximately $8,000, the timing chain and all related timing components had been replaced approximately 15 months ago, and now, the problem has recurred. In speaking with others, this is not an isolated incident; however, recurrence of the problem suggests to me that there is an inherent defect in the engine that causes timing chains to fail.

Got this recall issued 3 years ago,the infamous takata airbag.Called the dealers around again and again,they are saying no parts available .Always they say it s gonna be someday in the near future,no specific time or dates.Due to the vital nature of this issue i cant accept their candor and lack of interest .Please check and advice of my consumer mode to address this issue.Thank you
