• Recall 258209 [USA]: Reduced brake performance or brake failure can increase the risk of a crash.
  Mercedes-benz usa, llc (mbusa) is recalling certain 2006-2012 ml, gl, and r-class vehicles. Please refer to mbusa's recall report for specific vehicle model details. Moisture may accumulate and cause corrosion in the brake booster housing unit, which can result in reduced brake performance or brake failure.
  owners are advised not to drive their vehicles until the remedy has been performed. Dealers will remove the rubber sleeve, inspect the brake booster, and as necessary, replace the brake booster. All repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed may 17, 2024. Owners may contact mbusa customer service at 1-800-367-6372. • Recall 119162 [USA]: In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the driver's frontal air bag, the inflator could rupture with metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.

Upon deployment of the driver's frontal air bag, excessive internal pressure may cause the inflator to rupture.

• Recall 94712 [USA]: Diesel fuel may be deposited onto the highway and create the potential for a crash.
  Mercedes-benz usa (mbusa) is recalling certain model year 2011 vehicles including e-class (212 platform), manufactured from july 2010 through february 2011, r-class (251 platform), manufactured from april 2010 through april 2011, ml-class (w164 platform), manufactured from january 2010 through march 2011, gl-class (x164 platform), manufactured from march 2010 through march 2011, and model year 2012 s-class (221 platform) vehicles. The diesel fuel filter may leak from the area around the heating component.

• Recall 79229 [USA]: Diesel fuel may be deposited on roads and making those roads slippery, increasing the potential for a crash.
  Mercedes benz is recalling certain model year 2011 m-class, model w164, gl-class, model x164, e-class, model w212, r-class, and model v251vehicles. The o-ring may not have been properly lubricated in all cases. Lack of lubrication can lead to leakage of the fuel filter.

• Desiccated air bag inflator rupture investigation # EA21002

  From 2000 through 2017, takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("psan") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004l. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited. The rapid burning can cause the inflator to rupture during deployment, potentially causing serious or even fatal injury to vehicle occupants. See 2016 blomquist report at www.Nhtsa.Gov/sites/nhtsa.Gov/files/documents/expert_report-hrblomquist.Pdf.Consequently, all frontal inflators using propellant 2004 that do not contain a "desiccant" (a substance that traps and holds moisture) in us vehicles are under recall. These "non-desiccated" inflators either have been or are required to be replaced.In some cases, the remedy part for these recalled inflators was, or will be, an inflator using either propellant 2004 or 2004l that does contain a desiccant. None of these "desiccated" remedy parts (which were installed in older model year vehicles) are currently under recall for a degradation concern. Certain subsets of desiccated psan inflators using propellant 2004 for use as original equipment, however, have been recalled for a degradation concern. All takata inflators produced with propellant 2004l contain desiccant, and none of these desiccated inflators using propellant 2004l are under recall for a degradation concern. There have been no reported field ruptures in any non-recalled desiccated psan inflators.It is understood that desiccants fully saturate at some threshold, at which point any additional moisture will not be captured. This means the degradation process observed in non-desiccated inflators using propellant 2004 may also occur in non-recalled desiccated inflators using propellant 2004, assuming additional moisture enters the inflator and high temperature cycling occurs. Based on available information, desiccant saturation can occur within the first five years in the worst environments, and the time required for full saturation is affected by multiple factors. While no present safety risk has been identified, further work is needed to evaluate the future risk of non-recalled desiccated inflators using propellant 2004.Three entities -- takata (now known as tk global), the independent testing coalition, and exponent -- have been studying the long-term behavior of takata desiccated psan inflators using propellant 2004l (as well as 2004) in the presence of moisture and temperature cycling. The research efforts, which include development of predictive modeling techniques and field sample analysis, are ongoing. To date, none of the researchers have identified field evidence showing that propellant 2004l is undergoing a degradation process that leads to aggressive deployment and potential rupture. However, the time in service of such inflators remains short compared to that of the inflators using propellant 2004. Further study is needed to assess the long-term safety of desiccated inflators using propellant 2004l.The office of defects investigation is opening this investigation to examine whether a safety defect related to propellant degradation exists in non-recalled desiccated psan frontal inflators manufactured by takata. This investigation will require extensive information on takata production processes and surveys of inflators in the field. Lists of recall actions that may have used desiccated psan inflators as remedy parts, as well as the makes and models originally manufactured with them, is available with the downloadable version of this document (see nhtsa.Gov/recalls?Nhtsaid=ea21002 -- note this information is subject to change/revision as the investigation proceeds). 2011 mercedes benz gl550. Consumer writes in regards to driver side airbag safety recall. *ld the consumer stated the parts were not available upon arrival to the dealership for recall repair to be completed. The consumer stated it was a 220 mile drive to have the recall completed the consumer requested that the vehicle be picked up and returned by mercedes. *js

Takata recall. Dealer says mercedes still has not issued parts, and can not fix it. It has been known for a couple of years now.

Takata recall - its been over a year and nothing has been done about this. The online system says that the part is not available. The dealer would not take the car in as a trade as they said they cant sell it.

Takata recall...Why is no one able to help me. My airbags have been recalled and i keep getting tossed around and no one is claming responsibility. The reason i purchased a mercedes is for safety of my family of five. What do i do to get this fixed?

Takata recall. My car is on the "high risk" list of cars that need to have the airbags replaced, but i have contacted the dealer twice and both times i was told not to call again because they would contact me when replacement were available. When i told them that i do not feel safe driving my car (especially with my kids inside), i was told that they have not had any fatalities 'yet' and it is ok to keep driving with the faulty airbag.

Tl* takata recall. The contact owns a 2011 mercedes-benz gl550. The contact stated that the recall notice for nhtsa campaign number: 16v081000 (air bags) was received in february of 2016. After contacting the dealer (park place mercedes of arlington, tx) and the manufacturer on multiple occasions, the contact was informed that the parts needed for the repair were still not available and no estimated time for receiving the parts could be provided. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

Takata recall if mercedes benz is aware of this recall how come a year later i haven't been notified of this. The recall still shows no remedy. This is very dangerous especially as this is a family car and i drive my young kids everyday around in this vehicle. Mercedes should be ashamed. I want this matter fixed asap. Certain mercedes-benz vehicles and one fca model are equipped with driver-side front airbags provided by the supplier tk holdings inc. ("takata"). On january 25, 2016 takata filed a defect information report with nhtsa announcing a potential defect in some of the subject inflators. Based upon takata's information to date, takata is aware of four test ruptures in ballistic tests of non-desiccated psdi-5 inflators. Takata is not aware of any field incidents in which a psdi-5 inflator has ruptured, either desiccated or non-desiccated. Takata is taking this action in an abundance of caution, to address all of the subject non-desiccated psdi-5 air bag inflators, due to the similarities of design and manufacturing characteristics for this type of inflator used in the u.S. Market. Dag is not aware of any field incidents with the subject takata psdi-5 inflators. However, based on the information above and in an abundance of caution, dag will conduct a voluntary recall of the vehicles equipped with subject takata psdi-5 inflators in the united states as identified by takata in the defect information report. Safety risk: according to takata, in the event of an inflatorrupture, metal fragments could pass through the air bag cushion material, which may resulting injury or death to vehicle occupants. Remedy: once parts are available customers will be sent a letter asking them to go to an authorized mercedes benz dealer who will replace the driver side front airbag of the potentially affected vehicles recall status: incomplete. Remedy not yet available

Takata recall - mercedes still does not have a fix for this recall, which was issued in may.

Mercedes has not provided a resolution to the recall for several years.
