Hi, it is very common on all models 1995-1998 240sx for the gas tank to leak. Due to the 2 straps the hold the tank in place causing pressure and rubbing it cracks all our gas tanks. This should be fixed because it is a safety and environmental concern. It happens on all 1995-1998 240sx models. Please do something to get this fixed and resolved. You can look up 240sxforums.Com, zilvia.Net, ka-t.Org ect everyone with those years has an issue with cracking fuel tank. All in the same spot. Here are a few links....You can just good 240sx leaking tank or s14 leaking tank and will find loads of posts on people having cracked tanks all the same spot...Passenger side and sometimes on the driver side http://www.240sxforums.Com/forums/general-tech/130588-cracked-gas-tank-s14-need-help.Html http://nissan.240sx.Net/viewtopic.Php?T=9151 http://zilvia.Net/f/showthread.Php?T=431065 http://forums.Nicoclub.Com/my-car-is-leaking-gas-t543849.Html

Driving and noticed smell of gasoline. Parked car and inspected. Noticed that the fuel tank was leaking from a stress crack near the fuel tank strap. Fuel leak is obviously a safety hazard.

As i was driving down the road i started smelling an extremely large gas smell so i pulled over and looked under my car and my gas tank was leaking everywhere. It has a stress crack. No puncture or anything like that. The tank just started splitting apart.

As is common on 95+ 240sx gasoline began leaking out of my tank suddenly. I had no issues until one day i noticed the smell and a constant drip onto my driveway. *tr

Filled the tank on my way to work and began smelling gas. Upon coming out at the end of the day there was a large puddle of gas under the car. At this point the smell of gasoline in the car was unbearable. Got the car home and found fuel leaking on the passenger side near the rear wheel. Looking under the car and found fuel streaming from the front portion of the fuel tank near the support strap. It appears that the tank is cracking in this location. Without removing the tank it appears to be a stress fracture of some kind in the plastic tank. *tr
