• Recall 35255 [USA]: Fuel could escape from the fractured body of the connector onto the engine or side of the bike. fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, can result in a fire.
  On certain motorcycles, the fuel connector linking each of the feed and return fuel hoses to the fuel pump mounting plate may fracture following in-service handling.
  dealers will replace the connector. The recall began on july 30, 2004. Owners should contact triumph at 1-678-854-2010.

  Vehicle description: motorcycles. The clutch control cable can fray and fail. The barrel at the end of the inner cable seizes in the control lever bore, thereby stressing the inner cable.

• Fuel line fitting leaks investigation # PE03053

  Triumph responded to odis information request on february 23, 2004. In addition to the my2000-2002 triumph daytona and sprint models, triumph identified the following additional models that were built with the same fuel line fittings:2000-2003 tt600, 2002-2004 speed four, 2004 daytona 600, 1997-2004 daytona t595 & 955, 1997-2004 speed triple 855 & 955, 2000-2004 sprint rs 955, 1999-2004 sprint st 955, and 1999-2004 tiger 855 & 955.The majorityof these motorcycles will be included in the recall.A modified connector was introduced late in calendar year 2003, which does not appear to exhibit the defect. Motorcycles built after the modification will not be recalled.Triumph identified 13 united states and 6 uk complaints.One us complaint appeared to be related to a possible crash where leaking fuel caused a loss of traction. After odis review of triumphsdocuments, followed by a discussion of relevant facts with triumph, they made the decision to conduct the recall.The recalled vehicles will have the plastic fuel connectors replaced with a similarly designed aluminum connector. I bought the stated motorcycle on 16 oct 2002, as a new leftover vehicle with -0- miles, on the way home, on that same day, from the dealership, with 154 miles on the odometer, a fuel connector broke pumping gasoline down the side of the motorcycle, i had the vehicle towed to cycle riders suzuki of orlando,fla.,an authorized dealer of triumph motorcycle, and they repaired the m.C. Under warrantee. I completed my journey without further problems.*ak
