Code VIN Range From VIN Range To All 2015-2019 All All All All Technical Background When performing testing on a battery, ensure that the correct battery type has been selected in the VAS 6161 or GRX-3000 VAS. Failure to select the correct battery type will lead to incorrect test results and could indicate a false failure of a good battery. At this time the following batteries are installed in Volkswagen models: Regular (Lead Acid) AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) EFB/EFB+ (Enhanced flooded battery) Note: Failure to select the correct battery type will lead to incorrect test results and could indicate a false failure of a good battery. Service When performing testing on a battery, ensure that the correct battery type has been selected in the VAS 6161 or GRX-3000 VAS. When using the VAS 6161 confirm the correct selection has been made. Figure 1 displays test modes that are available. Figure 1 1 Technical Tips Note: When using the GRX-3000 VAS ensure you press the down arrow to see additional selections available (see figure 2). EFB (enhanced flooded battery) test mode after pressing down arrow selecting # 5 (see figure 3).
