Technical Background
The -R242- module front sensor for driver assistant systems will not calibrate or complete calibration. In some
instances, the camera will calibrate only to return shortly with a calibration fault or limit value exceeded fault.
(C1106F0: Dynamic Calibration Limit Value exceeded is one possible fault).
Service
Determine if the -R242- module or the windshield has been replaced. If the module has been replaced, perform the
configuration test plan and FES #2 test plan under the special function tab and retry calibration.
If the windshield was replaced, check if it is a Volkswagen replacement windshield. If it is, check that the windshield is
centered correctly to the vehicle. If the windshield is shifted too far left or right or too far up or down, it will affect the
camera position and thus camera calibration. The windshield will need to be removed and re-installed correctly.
