Technical Background
The customer may request a radio code, but it is found that there is no longer a function in ELSA Pro to do this.
Please note that the radio code function is no longer available via ELSA Pro. To obtain a radio code, the vehicle must
be present at the dealer so that the ODIS Service scan tool may be used to obtain the code.
Service

Start with a battery maintainer in place and the latest online version of ODIS Service software installed.

Using the scan tool, search under guided functions or the self-select test plan option for a test plan stating
“radio code query”.
Tip:
The test plan name and location may vary from vehicle to vehicle.
If unable to locate the test plan to obtain the radio code, build the vehicle as a 2005 (or newer) 1K/AJ Jetta or Rabbit.
ODIS Service will not be able to identify any control modules. Manually identify the RADIO. Once the control module
identification is complete, select the version of radio (i.e. Premium 7).

Deselect GFF and input VIN, continue by manually building the vehicle as a 2005 or newer 1K/AJ Jetta or
Rabbit.

Identify the RADIO only. Using guided functions. Perform test plan for "RADIO CODE INQUIRY".

Use the select self-test under the test plan Tab and search “Inquiry” if needed, manually retrieve the radio
serial number from the side of the radio (Figure 1).

Enter serial number manually, and the VIN. Please record the radio code obtained in the closing statement
when closing the VTA.

This should allow the radio code to be obtained. If the vehicle had to be manually built as a Jetta, please be sure that
an ODIS Service feedback is submitted.
