Page 1 of 1 Reference SSM69318 Range Rover (All New) / L405 Models Range Rover Sport / L494 Range Rover (L405) & RRS (L494) A/C Compressor run Title in procedure Category Electrical Last modified 01-Nov-2013 00:00:00 Symptom 208000 Climate Control Issue: Air Conditioning compressors premature failure due to incorrect run in procedure Cause: Insufficient lubrication in early life Action: The following 'Run in' procedure should be observed for any Air Conditioning compressors replaced in service conditions. Charging of A/C system with R134a/R1234yf with the engine “OFF”. Compressor running operation should not occur until control step 5. Content 1. Key ignition on 2. Ensure A/C is off 3. Start engine and run for 5 minutes at idle 4. Set A/C temperature to 22 deg,c fan blower speed 75% of max blower speed 5. Switch on A/C 6. Ensure all air ducts at dash board “OPEN”. 7. Run A/C system for minimum of 5 continuous minutes with the engine at idle After 5 minutes compressor run in & oil distribution in the A/C system is finalised.
