I own a 2012 ducati 1199 panigale. I am the 2nd owner of the motorcycle and it is just 3 months out of original manufacturer warranty. The motorcycle is 100% stock and has not been modified. The lower right side fairing/body panel is melting/burning due to exhaust heat. There have been a number of these exact issues on the same motorcycles ( across the country). Ducati issued a newer version of lower right side fairing which fixed this issue but they have not issued a recall for motorcycles already sold with defective part. My dealer, barnette suzuki and ducati is not able to replace the fairing without approval from ducati usa. This is a fire and safety issue. If i continue to use the motorcycle, the motorcycle will catch on fire, at the very least the entire left side fairing will burn resulting in extensive damage to the motorcycle. This issue can also result in injury or death because right side fairing also houses a lot of electrical sensors and wiring. Please help, i am in danger of injuring myself from fire or crash if i continue to use the motorcycle. Thank you

Motorcycle will not shift down from 3rd to 1st gear. Also in a stopping situation motorcycle is hard to get from 2nd to 1st gear or to find neutral. *tr

While at a stop, motorcycle starts moving while the clutch is fully engaged. Motorcycle needs to be shut off to prevent it from going forward at a red light or stop sign. Can lead to a fatal accident if i'm stopped and motorcycle starts riding forward with the clutch engaged. Happens every single time after i've been riding for about 25 - 30 minutes. This needs to be fixed as soon as possible. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ducati 1199 panigale motorcycle. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50 mph, the kickstand suddenly became detached and activated the kickstand safety switch, also causing the engine to stall. Additionally, the contact indicated that while parked, the kickstand would not remain engaged and would cause the motorcycle to fall to the ground. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that the bolts that were attached to the kickstand became loose. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 1,200.

I currently have a engine leak on my ducati motorcycle. I was riding and noticed a burnt oil smell. I pulled over and noticed a leak on left side casing. I took to ducati to report and repair. Ducati is still taking alot of time to make a choice on what to do. Still isn't repaired and now leak has gotten worse and got on my tires and almost crashed. It is a known problem buy ducati and still not making any attempt to fix in a speedy manor. I am worried that is a newer rider without my years of experience gets same issue it could be a major incident. My display which tells engine temp, speed and rpm's is inop and falling apart. It not only is unsafe to ride but unable to maintain and ride with proper road speeds. This again is a known issue with ducati. This display issue will now be my fourth display. The forks failed on my bike and almost crashed because the dampening portion of the forks failed and was almost unable to control. Again the only reason for not crashing and getting injured was my years of riding experience. These are not the only issues with this bike, but issues that to me are a huge safety matter. Thank you for your time and concern into these matters. *tr

Ducati 1199 panigale clutch issue: clutch system (slave, pushrod, disk(s), etc.) began binding after departing 600 mile (required) service appointment. The problem initially surfaced as intermittent on warm/hot days when the motorcycle was in operation and water temperature was above 170f. The issue became more pronounced with use, and by 800 miles, was constant - either cold or hot. The vehicle has been in 4 times for service for same/related issue(s), and the manufacturer has failed to repair. *tr

While driving in traffic at approximate 30-35 mph the engine on my 2012 ducati 1199 motorcycle suddenly died. I was able to coast off the side of the road onto the grass median. The engine was able to be started normally with one attempt using the starter after i was stopped. There were no other secondary indications. Outside air temp. Was approximately 90 degrees fahrenheit. Engine temp.180-187 degrees f. I had just come off of a 30 mile ride on country roads and had normal indications during the ride. The engine operated normally on the remainder of the ride home. Since this occurrence there have been several instances where the engine shutdown unexpectedly while i was downshifting preparing to stop at a traffic light or for traffic ahead. The common factors have been downshifting at speeds between 40-20 mph with the clutch engaged. In each case i was able to start the engine again after coming to a complete stop using the starter. This also happened to me once at night , lights out in the dark stopped at a major hi-way intersection. The last time it happened i was mentally more prepared for it. I insured the bike was in gear released the clutch and the engine started back. I have reported these events as far back as june 2012 to my local dealer and as of this report date have not received any response from the manufacture regarding this problem. I checked on ducati ms.Org a forum where other ducati owners discuss ducati motorcycles and discovered at least one other 1199 panigale owner had encountered the same problem. *tr
