Overview of Rear Brake System Updates (USA) All Models Service Repair Bulletin SRV-SRB-22-031 Date: To: From: July 18, 2022 Dealer Principal, General Manager, Service Manager, North American Dealer Network Richard Kenton, Technical Director Dan Schwartz, Service Area Manager This Service Bulletin replaces and cancels the bulletin SRV-SRB-22-029 published on 06/17/2022 Dear Dealers, This bulletin provides a summary of the updates available for motorcycles that have Customer concerns about a slight elongation, over time and use, of rear brake pedal stroke. Provided below is a reference table below where you will find: • • • • The vehicle model and Model Year The part number of the new brake hose connecting ABS control unit to rear brake caliper The part number of the new brake hose connecting ABS control unit to rear brake master cylinder The corrective action with relevant bulletin and CR number, where present Always remind Customers that correct brake operation must always be checked before each use of the motorcycle, as indicated in the Owner’s Manual, and that it is essential to have the brake systems maintained as prescribed in the maintenance schedule, including changing the brake fluid every 24 months. NOTE Regardless of the hose versions installed, it is absolutely necessary that when working on the rear brake system, it must be bled according to the instructions set forth in the dedicated bulletins while using the recommended brake fluid. Include information regarding the current visit and any previous attempts at correction. Vehicles Outside of Warranty For vehicles outside of normal warranty and not covered by either Ever Red VSP or 3rd party warranty, corrective actions including brake system bleeding and/or component replacement may be eligible for goodwill assistance at the sole discretion of Ducati. If goodwill assistance is provided, a signed disclaimer from the customer will be required on the repair order. The following must be provided for consideration: • • • Vehicle is 10 model years old or less Issue is not the result of misuse, damage, or modification A Youtech with the following documentation: o Description of issue and, if applicable, current and previous attempts to remedy o Complete service history including all customer paid service, repairs, and accessories o Sales documentation for current owner o Photos of the brake lever travel measurements as described in TSB o If approved- a scan of final repair order with customer signature on Ducati provided disclaimer Mechanical Adjustment of Rear Brake System In the case of a correction for rear brake performance, always inspect the rear brake pedal assembly for proper free-play adjustment of both the control rod and sensor stop as listed for each vehicle in the workshop manual in Section 4- Maintenance Operations.
