The first issue on my ducati is the rear brake not functioning properly for many years now. The rear brake does not stop my bike in a safe distance and when warmed up while riding it is very squishy and does not lock up even when extreme pressure is applied. I have changed the fluid religiously multiple times a year and have replaced the brake pads and rotors which the same results with all brand new equipment! The rear fluid location is in my opinion the issue...The fluid heats up and breaks down, preventing it from functioning properly. Additionally my fuel gauge sensor has been replaced 4 times and is a known issue with ducati's yet nobody seems to want to fix the problem...Which is the sensor fails to read to fuel level properly and at a cost of $125 just for the replacement part not to mention the labor it costs to remove the fuel tank and replace the faulty sensor with a new one....Several hours in labor later each time...The new sensor will work for a few months to a year then stop working again and give errors just like before. I have tried every new series of fuel sensor from ducati for my motorcycle and still the same result. Please help the ducati owners like myself by investigating these known issues and force ducati to fix these issues on all their bikes once and for all!

My motorcycle has a faulty fuel sensor which has been replaced a total of three times a two year period and is broken again. The manufacturer is advising me this is out of warranty and ignoring the clear poor quality and/or design of this part which has required so many replacements in such a short time period. They are relying on the fact that motorcycle riders are mostly recreational and will not notice problems on parts that last just short of their year warranty for parts.

The rear master cylinder was replaced during a service bulletin notice. The brake would fade then fail. This has happened numerous times even after the brake fluid was replaced at the dealer. The brake would work properly for a few hundred miles, fade, then fail. This is a very dangerous condition and affects virtually all ducati multi strada motorcycles manufactured from 2011-2014. The motorcycle needs to be recalled and a permanent fix implemented.

Rear brakes have failed four times. They have failed three times after the last recall. The brake fluid in the reservoir heats up because of its location near the exhaust pipe and chemically breaks down causing fading and failure of the brake. This is a widely known problem with these motorcycles. According to ducati service representatives, ducati knows about the problem but does not think the rear brake is necessary for stopping therefore, they have not properly addressed the safety issue. *tr

The rear brake will fade until it is complete unusable. Then it gets rebled and works for a day or two and then is unusable again. Ducati sent out a service bulletin and my dealership installed new parts per the service bulletin, but the rear brakes have failed again! They are dangerous! I have quit using the rear brake because i know i can't count on it, and that is worrisome too. *tr

While preparing to removing the front wheel from my 2011 ducati multistrada 1200st, i noticed the lower portion of right front fork leg that pinches the wheel axle was broken. This concerned me very much as this holds the front wheel axle tight so that it does not come loose. I was preparing to take a three day, 1100 mile trip. I looked at the ducati forum (http://www.Ducati.Ms/forums/44-multistrada/342081-2010-11-1200s-tsb-recall-right-fork-lowers.Html) and found information referring to a ducati technical service bulletin tsb 14-002 (full tsb can be found here: http://www.Mts1200.Info/mts12_faq/mts1200_docs/ducati/mts1200_ohlins_right_fork_ducati_service_bulletin_888.Pdf ). The tsb states, "this issue has no impact on rider safety..." though it may be safe to ride across town to get it repaired, my engineering experience tells me this is a safety concern, especially if you have to ride any distance before the repair can be performed. I believe this issue should be investigated and should become a full safety recall. I don't feel that it was appropriate to find out about this on my own accord and having to do my own internet research. All susceptible customers should be contacted by ducati for warranty repair service. Pictures available upon request. *tr
