Recall 2020443 [Canada]: Wheels
Issue: on certain motorhomes, the tire valve stem extensions for the inner wheels may get damaged by contact with the outer wheels. If this happens, the inner tire could lose air pressure. This could overload the outer tire and cause it to fail. Safety risk: a tire failure could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective actions: newmar will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorhome to a daimler trucks north america (dtna) authorized service facility to inspect and adjust the inner wheel valve stem stabilizers, as needed. The inner valve stems will be replaced, if required.
Recall 2020336 [Canada]: Lights and instruments

Note: this is an expansion of recall 2019-293. Vehicles that had an inspection, but did not have the pdm replaced under the previous recall, require a second repair under this recall. Safety risk: brake lights or turn signals that do not work could cause a following driver not to recognize that a vehicle ahead is braking or intends to turn. This could increase the risk of a crash. Recall 2018669 [Canada]: Brakes
On certain vehicles equipped with air disc brakes, the brake caliper mounting bolts may be incorrectly torqued. This could result in the caliper bolts loosening, which could lead to the caliper detaching. Insufficiently torqued fasteners may not provide adequate clamping force between the brake caliper and brake anchor plate potentially resulting in reduced brake effectiveness, which would result in increased stopping distances, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: daimler trucks of north america authorized service facilities will inspect the bolts, and repair as necessary.
Recall 2018413 [Canada]: Structure
On certain motorhomes, the latch on the entry door may not engage properly. This could allow the door to open unexpectedly when the vehicle is in transit, which could increase the risk of injury. Correction: dealers will adjust the entry door to ensure that the latch engages properly.
Recall 2018401 [Canada]: Brakes
On certain motorhomes equipped with air disc brakes, the brake caliper mounting bolts may be incorrectly torqued. Note: this condition can only happen with the ignition key in the off/accessory position and the battery disconnect on.
Recall 2018182 [Canada]: Electrical
On certain motorhomes, there may be a loose electrical connection in the breaker box that was not properly tightened. A loose power connection may cause a build up of heat at the connection, which would increase the risk of overheating or a fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: dealers will inspect the electrical connections in the breaker box and repair as necessary.
Recall 2018037 [Canada]: Lights and instruments
On certain motorhomes built on a freightliner chassis, if the headlight high beams are activated, only the high beam bulbs illuminate. The intention of the high beam function on the affected coaches is to have both the high beam and low beam bulbs illuminate together. Not having the required illumination of the road could reduce the driver’s visibility, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: daimler trucks north america authorized service facilities will repair as necessary to ensure the low beam bulb will turn on along with the high beam bulb.
Recall 2017651 [Canada]: Electrical
On certain motorhomes, there may be a loose electrical connection to the automatic transfer switch (ats) that was not properly tightened. Correction: dealers will inspect the electrical connections and perform repairs as necessary.
Recall 2017635 [Canada]: Accessories
On certain motorhomes equipped with kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Note: this recall replaces fl-856 (transport canada recall 2020-336). Motorhomes that were repaired under that recall also require this repair. Safety risk: brake lights or turn signals that do not work could cause a following driver not to recognize that a vehicle ahead is braking or intends to turn. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective actions: newmar will notify owners by mail and instruct you to contact a daimler trucks north america (dtna) authorized service facility to schedule a repair. The service facility will install a new wiring harness bypass.
Recall 2022297 [Canada]: Wheels
Issue: on certain motorhomes, the tire valve stem extensions for the inner wheels may get damaged by contact with the outer wheels. If this happens, the inner tire could lose air pressure. This could overload the outer tire and cause it to fail. Note: this recall replaces fl-861 (transport canada recall 2020-443). Motorhomes that were repaired under that recall also require this repair. Safety risk: a tire failure could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash.
