• Recall 811 [USA]: It may not allow the driver of a rearward approaching vehicle to have full view of the lamps.
  Certain heavy duty class 8 trucks fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 108, "lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment." the two tail lamps, back-up lamp,and license tag lamp were mounted on insufficiently rigid mounts.
  dealers will attach the two tail lamps, back-up lamp, and the license tap lamp on stiffer brackets. Owner notification began october 31, 2002. • Recall 6760 [USA]: This condition could cause the abs ecu to exhaust the air at the air brake modulators for one or more of the wheels. this could result in extended braking distances and a possible crash.
  Vehicle description: heavy duty trucks built with bendix air abs with an ec-17 1030r electronic control unit (ecu), there have been reports of unwanted abs activation at low speeds caused by 1) chafed abs wheel speed sensor wires on rotating parts or 2) a damaged component at the wheel end that generates a certain type of erratic sensor signal.

• Recall 7839 [USA]: The loss of service brakes can occur, increasing the risk of a crash.
  Vehicle description: heavy duty trucks equipped with haldex manifold dash valves (mdv) used in tractor and trailer parking brakes. These valves do not meet the requirements of fmvss no. 121, "air brake systems." a loss of the isolation of the two brake system circuits can result in the loss of service brakes when there is another failure of one of the two brake circuits.

• Recall 13015 [USA]: This condition would result in increased stopping distances.
  Vehicle description: class 8 heavy duty trucks. The air suspension control valve supply line was not plumbed through an air pressure protection valve. In the event of a failure, there would be loss of air pressure in the 'b' system air reservoir that supplies air pressure for the front steer axle brakes.

• Recall 13677 [USA]: If this condition exists, the jam nut and wheel bearing adjusting nut can back off the spindle allowing the wheel and the brake drum assembly to separate from the vehicle increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.
  Vehicle description: class 8 heavy duty trucks. The steer axle wheel bearing jam nut lock washer may not have been bent over the jam nut after the wheel bearings were adjusted.

  On certain vehicles, the double check valve disc incorporated into the brake manifold dash valve can become brittle over time and crack. If this condition exists and there is a single point failure in either the primary or secondary air system, loss of all service braking could result without warning with the potential for a vehicle crash. Correction: manifold dash valve will be replaced.

• Recall 2000210 [Canada]: Brakes
  On certain vehicles, the abs ecu misinterprets certain signals from wheel ends which can result in the temporary loss of braking capability on one or more wheel positions for several seconds. This response results from either an abs cable that has chafed through the insulation and contacted a rotating part or a misaligned tone ring that has been damaged by contacting other components. Correction: abs ecu will be replaced with a new ecu with upgraded software capable of detecting and properly responding to erroneous signals.

• Recall 1998007 [Canada]: Suspension
  The steer axle wheel bearing jam nut lock washer may not have been bent over the jam nut after the wheel bearings were adjusted. If this condition exists, the jam nut and the wheel bearing adjusting nut may back off the spindle, allowing the wheel and brake drum assembly to separate from the vehicle. Correction: vehicles will be inspected and if required, the steer axle wheel bearing will be adjusted and then the jam nut lock washer will be bent over the jam nut.

  On certain vehicles, the air ride suspension control valve supply line is not plumbed through an air pressure protection valve. In the event of an air suspension bag failure, there will be loss of air pressure in the "b" system which supplies air pressure to the front steer axle brakes. This could result in loss of front steer axle brakes and increased stopping distances. Correction: air pressure protection valve will be installed.
