DTC (Code) Codigo: Bulletin: U029E-00 RD18-002 Date Fecha: July 9, 2018 Description: Lost Communication With NOx Sensor "B" Application: US13 – US20 Emissions General Information These repair instructions are intended to address the following fault(s): DTC U029E-00 Description Possible Cause Lost Communication With NOx Sensor "B" • • • • • • • Blown fuse Supply wire, 12V Open circuit on ground wire J1939 CAN2 datalink fault Faulty or missing terminating resistor in the DPF wiring harness Faulty termination resistance in the ECM (EMS) NOx sensor Possible (Observable) Symptoms Possible engine de-rate Required Parts Part Number Description Quantity N/A N/A N/A Repair Instructions 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Visually check that wiring harness is not damaged Check that the connectors are properly connected and locked into position Disconnect and check the component connector Inspect pins and terminals for oxidation or corrosion Ensure that the pins and terminals are locked into the connectors and that they are not pushed back out of the sockets 6. Check that the pins and terminal are not damaged (which can cause poor connection) Additional Resources These repairs are the most likely fix for the identified fault, if this does not fix the issue, Tech Tool will need to be used for more detailed diagnostics.
