Volvo has introduced a new battery maintainer into the Special Tools program that will better support
VIDA software downloads. Statistically we see over 50% of the downloads being performed with too low
a battery voltage. This is a major contributor to download failures, especially when using VIDA Wi-Fi.

The Deutronic DBL-1200 is an advanced battery maintainer/charger with the flexibility to be updated as
products and repair methods evolve. To ensure correct battery voltage during software downloads, and
lessen the chances for SWDL failures, the DBL-1200 has been classified as a required Volvo Special
Tool, for all retailers. As such, this DBL 1200 is factory set to Volvo’s specifications.
This DBL 1200 and the transport system (cart) will be automatically allocated through normal
Volvo Cars Special Tool routines and delivered in a staged roll out beginning Q2 of 2022.
Like all other special tools, it will be invoiced on your retailer parts statement.

The DBL 1200 is covered for 2 years for manufacturer defects.
The USA Deutronic warranty and repair center is Supplier Resource, Inc. (SRI) and it is in
Spartanburg, SC.
The procedure for repairs including warranty repairs, requires the unit to be returned to the Spartanburg
location. No cables or cords are necessary. Deutronic will repair the unit and send an invoice for the
repair (no invoice for warranty repairs). Once the invoice is paid, the charger will ship the unit back to
the dealer.
