Technical Background
While verifying a low refrigerant condition the -V454- Air Conditioning Compressor sometimes appears to be leaking at
the case seals (Figure 1).
The oil found at the bottom of the compressor (Figure 1) can be caused by a leaking low pressure compressor O-ring.
(Figure 2-3).

Before the replacement of any compressor for a possible leak the leak must first be verified by injecting dye into the
Air Conditioning system after refrigerant recovery to verify the refrigerant level
