Purpose/Background: Required electrical component used to control the electrical steps has been discontinued by the manufacturer. 3 options are available. Description/Procedure: Option 1: Replace, Rewire, and Weatherproof Module 1. Order the following parts: a. 4076068 MODULE,STEP ASSEMBLY 12AMP 8-18VDC b. 64-2343 RELAY,SPDT 30A 12VDC,ENCAPSUL W/RESISTOR W/TAB c. 64-2344 HARNESS,ENCAPSULATED RELAY 2. Request wiring diagram 66-8000-354S. 3. The replacement module is not a direct replacement. a. New unit is not waterproof and is intended for indoor use. Module must be mounted and wired in a weather-tight location. Unit is 4.125”L x 2.375”W x 1.00”H (H is to top of terminals). b. Operating temperature range is -40°C (-40°F) to +85°C (+185°F). c. Module receives a positive signal rather than a negative, so wiring modifications will be required. Option 2: Replace with Existing Fixed Option 0555486 Steps, 4-Door, Dual, Imp/Vel 1.
