• Recall 102872 [USA]: If there is a crack in the steering bracket, at low speeds it may cause the steering to lock, leading to personal injury or a crash.
  Ohlins racing ab (ohlins) is recalling certain steering dampers kits manufactured with an incorrectly machined bracket. These dampers were sold for use as aftermarket equipment on yamaha r1, r6, and fz6, suzuki tl1000 r and gsx1300r, honda cb600rr, and ducati monster 1000, 748, 848, 916, 996, and 998 motorcycles. Also included are universal steering damper kits with part numbers sd 000 through sd 005. The affected brackets may crack.
  ohlins will notify the distributors and provide their customers with a new bracket. The recall began in november 2013. Owners may contact ohlins usa at 1-828-692-4525. Note: this recall is an expansion of recall 13e-034.

• Recall 2011031 [Canada]: Fuel supply
  On certain motorcycles, the seal between the fuel pump and the fuel tank could leak. Fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: dealer will replace the original flange seal with an updated version.

• Fuel leak at pump/tank interface investigation # PE10045

  After opening this pe, we met with subject owners, dealers, and ducati north america personnel.We learned that the subject leakage is limited to the multistrada line alone and is unrelated to composite fuel tank deformation.Rather it stems from the inability of the original sealing o-ring to conform to the tanks relatively rough sealing surface.Recall 11v-020 provides a new "x" section o-ring to address the multistrada issue and with that recall, this pe is closed for the multistrada.Meanwhile, unlike the multistrada, the monster line fails to exhibit a current safety defect trend and, on that basis, this pe is closed for those models as well.

Fuel tank is plastic and is deformed from gas that is from us states, it has swollen and and can no longer fit on the bike it is too big to latch down and the gas cape could leek because it can not close because of the change in shap if the tank. Other gas fittings on the gas tank are also effected the gas lines and the tank no longer fits on the bike

Fuel tank leak due to tank distorting. This is the second time replacing tank. Ducati never fixed this problem. The plastic tanks cannot handel the ethanol gas in the us.

The gas tank has deformed causing fitment issues and is leaking gas.

Fuel tank keeps expanding. Ducati replaced tank 2 times but with the same material or same type . Tank swelling makes it impossible to remove to get under the tank for maintenance or access to battery . Tank also doesn't fit properly to frame . Dealer wants to sale k100 fuel additive for ethanol problem to prevent plastic swelling . I tried but problem persists . No improved tank is offered . I own a second bike with same problem . Tl* the contact owns a 2006 ducati monster s2r 1000. The contact stated that the vehicle leaked fuel onto the engine intermittently after it had been driven 45 mph and then parked. The vehicle has a fire protection pad. When the fuel tank was replaced, the dealer removed the pad to give the tank more room to expand. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 16,381.

The engine case has 2 severe cracked in the place where the frame mounts to the engine. This is common with the s2r and st3 because of a design flaw in frame design adding increased pressure to that part of the engine case. *tr

Fuel tank has shifted and expanded to the point where it is affecting the ignition switch and pressuring the fasteners that hold the tank down. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 ducati monster m620 dark motorcycle. The contact stated that while driving 25 mph and applying the throttle, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was restarted and after a few minutes the failure recurred. The process was repetitive. The following day the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnosis and the contact was informed that the fuel pump flange was replaced. Ten days and twenty miles later, the failure recurred. The contact was informed that the fuel pump flange would need to be replaced again. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not further repaired. The failure and current mileage was 14,300.
