Fuel leak at pump/tank interface investigation # PE10045
After opening this pe, we met with subject owners, dealers, and ducati north america personnel. We learned that the subject leakage is limited to the multistrada line alone and is unrelated to composite fuel tank deformation.Rather it stems from the inability of the original sealing o-ring to conform to the tanks relatively rough sealing surface.Recall 11v-020 provides a new "x" section o-ring to address the multistrada issue and with that recall, this pe is closed for the multistrada.Meanwhile, unlike the multistrada, the monster line fails to exhibit a current safety defect trend and, on that basis, this pe is closed for those models as well.

Fuel tank keeps expanding. Ducati replaced tank 2 times but with the same material or same type . Tank swelling makes it impossible to remove to get under the tank for maintenance or access to battery . Tank also doesn't fit properly to frame . Dealer wants to sale k100 fuel additive for ethanol problem to prevent plastic swelling . I tried but problem persists . No improved tank is offered . I own a second bike with same problem . Thank you *tr

The engine case has 2 severe cracked in the place where the frame mounts to the engine. This is common with the s2r and st3 because of a design flaw in frame design adding increased pressure to that part of the engine case. *tr
