• Recall 104859 [USA]: If the alternator is damaged, the charging system warning lamp in the instrument cluster will illuminate, and the engine will lose power and the vehicle will eventually stop operating while being driven. an unexpected failure of motive power while driving increases the risk of a crash.
  Hyundai motor company (hyundai) is recalling certain model year 2007-2012 veracruz vehicles manufactured from december 26, 2006, through july 24, 2012. The affected vehicles may experience an oil leak from the front cylinder bank valve cover gasket. If there is a sufficient amount of oil dropped onto the alternator, the alternator will be damaged causing the charging system to become inoperative.

• Recall 66510 [USA]: If the clock spring develops high resistance, in the event of a crash, the drivers air bag will not deploy and will not be able to properly protect the driver, increasing the risk of injuries.
  Hyundai is recalling certain model year 2007-2008 hyundai veracruz vehicles manufactured from december 26, 2006, through march 21, 2008, and model year 2007-2008 hyundai santa fe vehicles manufactured from april 19, 2006 through march 20, 2008. The clock spring contact assembly for the driver's air bag supplemental restraint system (srs) may become damaged through usage over time. The driver's air bag electrical circuit will experience a high resistance condition, potentially causing the driver's air bag to not deploy.

  Hyundai is recalling 532,633 my 2006-2007 accent, entourage, sonata, my 2007 azera, elantra and santa fe, my 2005-2007 tucson and my 2007-2008 veracruz vehicles. The stop lamp switch in the affected vehicles may malfunction. • Recall 75244 [USA]: A short circuit can cause overheating and damage to the converter module, possibly resulting in a fire.
  Hyundai is recalling 3,387 trailer hitch wiring harnesses either included with a trailer hitch or sold as a service part manufactured by thule towing systems and distributed by hyundai for installation on my 2007-2008 santa fe and veracruz vehicles. The accessory trailer hitch wiring harness converter module is mounted to the top surface of the rear bumper reinforcement. Some circuit board components may not have been thoroughly sealed to prevent moisture contact. The moisture may result in circuit board corrosion possibly causing a short circuit.
  this recall supersedes a previous recall conducted by hyundai affecting the same trailer hitch wiring components concerning high current leakage or a short circuit of capacitor c1. (please see 08e016). Owners who have already had their trailer hitch repaired under the initial campaign will receive a second notice from hyundai to have the newly designed harness installed.   Issue: on certain vehicles, engine oil can leak from the valve cover onto the alternator. If this happens, the charging system could stop working and cause a warning light to turn on. If you continue to drive the vehicle with this problem, the engine could shut off while driving, and you may not be able to restart it. Note: this recall replaces r0090 (transport canada recall 2014-297). Vehicles that were repaired under that recall also require this repair. Safety risk: a sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective actions: hyundai will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to have an oil protector installed. Over time, this could result in a short circuit that can cause overheating of the control module. These kits may have been ordered at the time of a vehicle purchase, or purchased separately from a dealer as an aftermarket accessory. Safety risk: a short circuit could create a fire risk. On certain vehicles, engine oil can leak onto the alternator, which could affect charging system function and potentially cause the engine to stall and not restart. This would result in a loss of motive power as well as affect power braking and power steering system function, which would unexpectedly increase steering and brake pedal effort, potentially increasing stopping distances and the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: dealers will replace the front valve cover gasket and repair/replace the alternator, as necessary.

  On certain vehicles, the stop lamp switch may have been incorrectly installed during vehicle assembly. This could prevent proper brake lamp operation. Failure of the brake lamps to illuminate when the brakes are applied may result in the following road users being unaware of the driver's intentions, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury or death. A malfunction of the switch may also cause the brake lamps to remain illuminated when the brake pedal is released. The contact owns 2007 hyundai veracruz. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with oil leaking on to the alternator. The second time that the failure occurred, the contact was driving approximately 45-50 mph, when the check engine warning light illuminated and the vehicle failed to accelerate above 20 mph. The contact drove the vehicle to her residence. The vehicle was then towed to the same dealer the next day. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing the failure related to nhtsa campaign number: 20v705000 (engine and engine cooling) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The failure mileage was 135,000. Parts distribution disconnect. Consumer stated vehicle has been in the shop for 4 months but did not receive a recall until the second week. Only oil leak on the accelerator was repaired.

I have contacted hyundai motors regarding the recall that was released november of 2020 because my car has became inoperable due to the recall . Oil has leaked into my alternator causing the charging symptom not to work so now the car won’t start . I have tried to find a possible solution until the remedy is available. The recall has been released for over 7 months now . I am not able to financially afford the repairs on this car right now . They told me that i could pay to have the car repaired until the remedy is available. If i needed a loaner car from hyundai until the remedy was available i would have to pay out of pocket for the expenses . I have not driven my car in about 2 months now due to the issue
