SUBJECT:
This TSB supersedes 20-BD-007H by including exterior surfaces and additional recommended
products.
Description: This bulletin describes the general guidelines to help disinfect and protect vehicle
exterior/interior surfaces using recommended safe chemical products.

CAUTION
Follow the guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for required
personal protective equipment (PPE) and proper disinfecting procedures.

The following chemical products are recommended to use for disinfecting vehicle exterior/interior
surfaces from viruses and/or bacteria (including but not limited to: COVID-19 & influenza virus):

CHEMICAL DISINFECTANT GUIDELINES
SUBJECT:

Hydrogen peroxide, bleach, and ammonia based cleaners are NOT advised due to their strong
toxic chemical structure and exothermic properties and may damage exterior/interior surfaces.

Isopropyl alcohol products tend to quickly dry organic materials, which may result in leather
surfaces appearing dry or faded.
o Leather conditioner products are recommended to replenish the surface structure and
maintain proper finish after disinfecting with isopropyl alcohol.
o Some examples of leather conditioner products include:

Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for all cleaning and disinfectant products that are not
recommended in this bulletin.
