The office of defects investigation (odi) has received eight hyundai motor america (hyundai) and eight kia america, inc. (kia) part 573 recall reports between 2016 and 2023. The combined 16 safety recalls all involve the antilock braking system (abs) modules or hydraulic electronic control units (hecu) manufactured by the equipment supplier mando. The part 573 recall reports contain varying defect descriptions and differing remedy descriptions for the same or similar equipment supplied by mando. Safety recalls included in this audit query (aq) review include: hyundai recalls 20v-520, 20v-543, 21v-161, 21v-160, 21v-303, 22v-056, 22v-810, and 23v-651. I contacted the dealership and they claim that do not have the required part to resolve the issue. Also they do not have an estimated delivery date for the part. Please advise.

In the section description of the safety risk it says that there is a risk of a fire when the vehicle is "parked or driving". In the section description of remedy it states "customers can continue driving these vehicles". It seems based on these two statements you're taking a chance of a vehicle fire if you continue to drive. The first statement says the problem can occur while driving and the second says you can still drive the vehicle. Based on information from other sources quoting genesis the installation of a particular fuse, located in the abs module will prevent the chance of a fire. I'm assuming this is a temporary fix since genesis is still trying to locate the exact cause of the problem. Can you elaborate on exactly what fuse should be replaced. My local dealership and genesis national customer service have no clue about this fuse stop-gap measure and are refusing to look further into the matter. At this point, based on the information in the nhtsa report i am afraid to use my car. Can you please clarify whether or not i can safely operate my vehicle? Currently it is sitting in my driveway as i don't want to take a chance transporting myself or family. Thank you.
