On february 21, 2020 hyundai expanded the recall to include 46,425 model year 2007-2008 entourage and 2007 santa fe vehicles. Moisture may enter the anti-lock brake (abs) module and result in an electrical short.

• Recall 92717 [USA]: Failure to illuminate the stop lamps during braking or inability to disengage the cruise control could increase the risk of a crash. additionally, when the ignition is in the 'on' position, the transmission shifter may be able to be moved out of park without first applying the brake. this may lead to unintentional movement of the car which may increase the risk of a crash.

• Recall 75242 [USA]: A short circuit can cause overheating and damage to the converter module, possibly resulting in a fire.
  Hyundai is recalling 3,387 trailer hitch wiring harnesses either included with a trailer hitch or sold as a service part manufactured by thule towing systems and distributed by hyundai for installation on my 2007-2008 santa fe and veracruz vehicles. The accessory trailer hitch wiring harness converter module is mounted to the top surface of the rear bumper reinforcement. Some circuit board components may not have been thoroughly sealed to prevent moisture contact. The moisture may result in circuit board corrosion possibly causing a short circuit.

  On certain vehicles equipped with an advanced airbag system, the passive occupant detection system (pods), installed in the right front seat of the vehicle, may misclassify a small stature adult as a child and deactivate the passenger frontal airbag. • Throttle control system vulnerabilities investigation # DP21003

  The office of defects investigation (odi) of the national highway traffic safety administration (nhtsa) received a petition letter dated october 10, 2021, requesting an investigation of possible defects in the electronic throttle control (etc) system on certain kia vehicles resulting in the opening of dp21-003. Accordingly, model year (my) 2005-2016 kia optima/k5, my 2006-2015 kia sorento, my 2007-2016 hyundai elantra, my 2007-2016 hyundai santa fe, my 2006-2015 hyundai sonatas are all part of the subject population. The petition was originally filed as a vehicle owner questionnaire that can be reviewed at nhtsa.Gov under reference (odi) number 11439675.On november 12, 2021, odi opened defect petition dp21-003 to evaluate the petitioner?S request. Odi performed trend analyses of the voqs related to vehicle speed control issues for all the subject vehicles and found that none of the 52 model/model year hyundai/kia vehicles demonstrated any actionable trend that warranted an investigation.Petitioners submitted 1119 voqs and non-voq cases in which sudden uncommanded acceleration (sua) or loss of motive power (lomp) incidents were alleged.For the 1119 reports, 220 were incidents involving crashes, from which 69 subject hyundai-kia vehicles were inspected by hyundai/kia dealer technicians, hyundai/kia engineers, and/or third-party representatives.Odi found the inspections identified no vehicle defects related to the etc system.Of the 220 crash-involved reports, 13 event data recorder (edr) records were downloaded successfully and 11 of those indicated driver error: (i.E.) pedal misapplication.A condition where the accelerator pedal is mistakenly applied instead of the brake pedal when the driver wants to stop the vehicle.In addition, odi reviewed a scientific journal paper published in forensic science international in 2016 by mr. Park et al ., as well as related test videos. Odi does not believe there is any evidence of uncontrollable sua occurrences in any of the tests reviewed. Nhtsas office of vehicle safety compliance (ovsc) reviewed the allegations regarding the potential noncompliance with federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 124.Based on the information provided, the agency concludes there is insufficient information for us to determine if a possible non-compliance exists.Finally, both hyundai and kia informed odi that all their vehicles manufactured after 2012 were equipped with an etc management system, in which the engine speed will go to idle when the system sees signals from both the brake pedal and accelerator pedal at the same time; this is commonly known as the brake-throttle override system.After thoroughly assessing the material submitted by the petitioner, information already in nhtsas possession, information submitted by hyundai and kia in response to an information request letter, and the potential risks to safety implicated by the petitioners allegation, nhtsa does not believe that a formal investigation is warranted. After full consideration of appropriate factors, the petition is denied. A federal register notice (frn) further detailing nhtsa?S reasons for denial of the petition will be published.

Driving down the street the abs, brake and esc light came on and wouldn't go off, there was also a buzzing sound going on.Took the car home and turned it off and the sensor from that unit stayed on making a buzzing sound even after the car was turned off.

The valve cover gasket failed after being replaced under a previous recall in the same manner and oil leaks directly into the alternator causing it to ultimately fail.

Valve cover recall was repaired but the same issue showing up again. The forums have the same complaints. It is leaking onto the alternator again. Has not failed yet but will have to pay several hundred to repair it. It is also leaking onto the exhaust shield could catch fire.

2007 sante fe limited, sage grey one owner, garage kept, maintained regular basis, low mileage 84,000, interior and exterior in excellent condition with a kelly blue book of $4200 to $4600. Purchased at lauren hyundai in glenview and maintained at hyundai lincolnwood, il along with my regular mechanic. I learned yesterday that the right rear of sub frame rusted out with a both front frame rusted out and has a hole in it. It's a know issue by fed, nhtsa, series of recalls and dealer rusted out frames, sub frames and other part repairs and replacemetns. The 2007 treatment didn't work and the same issue is all over the internet with class action suits. I've also read low and high mileage cars within 2-10 years have same issue but must be covered under warranty. They resolved the older ones by spraying them one one recall and didn't upgrade their sub par parts for us cold weather salt belt states. I now lost the value, cant sell it outright and the car is deemed unsafe. I'd like assistance getting this looked at and repaired. Yes old but in great condition mechanically with a vital part of the car not code for chicago from the beginning with a continued issue up to today. Cars that were new and a few years were getting them replaced. I that even safe after the repair? I still have value in this car and i shouldn't have to forfit from gross negligence on hyundai motors on a vital part of the car.
