(mbusa) is recalling certain 2013-2017 vehicles due to a software fault that may cause the date and time for the emergency call system (ecall) to differ from the actual date and time, potentially relaying an inaccurate vehicle location.   mbusa has initiated an over the air (ota) remote update. Mbusa will also notify owners, and dealers will check software for a successful ota or update the communication module software as needed, free of charge. The recall began december 23, 2019. • Recall 139689 [USA]: The leaking oil in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.
  Mercedes-benz usa, llc. (mbusa) is recalling certain 2012-2014 ml350 bluetec 4matic and ml550 4matic, 2012-2015 ml63 amg 4matic and ml350 4matic, 2013-2016 gl350 bluetec 4matic, gl550 4matic and gl63 amg 4matic, 2017 gls350d 4matic, gls450 4matic, gls550 4matic and gls63 amg 4matic, 2015 ml400 4matic, 2016 gle400 4matic, gle350 4matic, gle63 amg 4matic, gle63s amg 4matic, gle450 4matic coupe and gle63s amg 4matic coupe, 2015-2016 gl450 4matic and 2013-2014 gl450 4matic vehicles equipped with the active curve system (acs). In certain driving conditions, if the oil level in the acs reservoir is below the minimum level, the oil may foam and leak out of the vent holes in the reservoir cap.
  mbusa will notify owners, and dealers will correct the oil level as necessary and replace the reservoir sealing cap to prevent oil foam from leaking out, free of charge. • Recall 121355 [USA]: If water enters the power steering control unit, the power steering assist may be deactivated, increasing the risk of a crash.
  Mercedes-benz usa, llc. (mbusa) is recalling certain 2016 gle300d 4matic, e400 4matic coupe, gl63 amg, gle350, gle350 4matic, gle350d 4matic, gle400 4matic, gle43 amg coupe 4matic, gle550e 4matic, gle63 amg 4matic, gle63s amg 4matic and gle63s amg coupe 4matic vehicles, 2017 e300 4matic and gls63 amg 4matic vehicles, and 2016-2017 gl350 4matic bluetec, gl450 4matic, and gl550 4matic vehicles. The affected vehicles have an electric power steering connector that may be insufficiently sealed, allowing water to enter the control unit.
  mbusa will notify owners, and dealers will replace the connector and inspect the electric power steering rack, replacing the rack as necessary. These repairs will be performed free of charge. Remedy parts are currently unavailable. Interim notices informing owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed june 30, 2017. • Recall 124704 [USA]: The loose bolt may cause improper wheel tracking, increasing the risk of a crash.
  Mercedes-benz usa, llc (mbusa) is recalling certain 2016 gle350 4matic, gle350, gle350 4matic bluetec, gl450 4matic, and gle450 coupe 4matic vehicles. In the affected vehicles, the bolt that connects the upper control arm and the axle stub may not have been properly tightened.
  mbusa will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the tightness of the bolt connecting the upper control arm and the axle stub on the affected vehicles, replacing the upper control arm if necessary, free of charge. We purchased the car in july 2019 and in addition to the car having warranty up to 50,000 miles, we purchased an additional service/repair package for $1,800.00 recently we noticed that when we first start driving the car has a noise on the right side, the noise is most noticeable when applying the brake and when releasing the brake. We took the car to mercedes benz of valencia and to say that the service department staff was unwilling to help is a gross understatement. They eventually did agree to keep the car governing and test drive it in the morning, they called the following day on december 3rd and told us to come and get the car. Bill the service representative stated that they heard the noise when applying the brake and said there is nothing they can do because the brakes on the car are new and that they do not know what could be wrong with the car. We are concerned and , worried about our safety, we purchased the car and the additional repair package for peace of mind expecting to get the proper service to address any issues because the car is covered by a 50,000 mile warranty and we purchased additional service package.

The windshield is weak prone to break/crack easily. In less than 3 years 4 windshields have been required. Not normal and this is potentially dangerous.

The sunroof in this vehicle shattered overnight without any known cause. The vehicle was parked in the driveway at my home. No one was injured in this incident. The vehicle was last driven at 10 p.M. On 05/01/18 without the damage, and at 7:30 a.M. This morning, 05/02/18, when i was getting ready to leave my home, i noticed the middle of the sunroof was sticking up a little bit...It looked like a punch from the inside. When i opened the door, a big piece of the middle of the sunroof fell down onto the screen underneath it and the rest of it was shattered but still in place. This was the first day of really warm weather we have had in a while and i don't know if that could be related to the cause. We took the vehicle to the mercedes benz dealership and the representative there said he had never heard of this happening; however, there are many incidents reported on the internet of this exact same issue. I hope you can force them to look into this issue for safety reasons and also for the monetary expense to the consumer. It should be a warranty repair item.

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 mercedes-benz gl450. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 17v241000 (steering). The part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact spoke to autohaus of peoria (2322 w van winkle way, peoria, il 61615) who stated that they had not heard of the recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

2nd row head rest unsafe and unuseable - the headrest is too low and too high for a child or small person to use. When in down position, seat pushes head forward; when it is up, it's too tall for the head. Also headrest is very difficult to pull up. Basically, this part is not useable by anyone except a very tall person. Should be replaced by mercedes. Injuries can occur due to this design. No incident has occurred; only complaints about using the head rest.

The second row seat headrest is unusable for my children. It hits them in the head and they are totally uncomfortable. I see now that this is a major source of problems for this vehicle. Many parents are complaining. Mercedes has no cure for it. Not ok.

My father and mother in-law recently purchased a 2016 mercedes benz gl450 as our family car. The headrests for the 2nd row seats with the "easy entry" option appear to pose a comfort and safety issue for both car seats and "shorter" people... I would say 5'-3" and shorter. With the "easy entry" option the 2nd row head rests are only 2 position, fully lowered or fully extended. Fully adjustable heights are not possible. Both positions pose a comfort and safety issue. At the fully lowered position, a child's car seat would not be flush with the seat as the head rest forces the car seat to lean forward in an unstable condition. Also for "shorter" people, the head rest at the fully lowered position forces a person's head to lean forward in a very uncomfortable and un-natural position. With the headrests at the fully extended position, the car seat back doesn't quite rest on the the seat as the head rest still protrudes from the vertical plane of the seat. Therefore the car seat is once again in an unstable condition even though secured by the seat belt restraint system. For the "shorter" people, the headrest at the fully extended position is extremely uncomfortable as the headrest protrudes, as indicated above, and so the person's head is resting on an edge of the headrest, in a leaned forward position. Please review this issue further as i'm sure there have been other complaints on what is perceived to be a manufacturer's design issue.
