• Recall 101809 [USA]: Once electrically conductive, the material is capable of melting and burning, increasing the risk of a fire.
  Marathon coach, inc. (marathon) is recalling certain model year 2001-2013 marathon conversions prevost xl, and h3 motorcoaches equipped with sure power-brand battery equalizers or dc-dc converters containing a particular epoxy sealing, aka 'potting', compound. The specific potting compound used in the subject products for insulation was found to be capable of conducting electricity after being exposed to heat.

• Recall 36622 [USA]: The surface temperature of the exhaust tube exiting from the heater can increase and could potentially ignite combustible materials in or around the vehicle.

• Recall 55840 [USA]: Loss of steering control can cause a vehicle crash without prior notice.
  On certain motor coaches and motor homes, the power steering hose can rub in the engine compartment and in the spare tire compartment which will cause a power steering hose break down.
  dealers will inspect the hoses and replace them if there is evidence of wear free of charge. The recall began on march 30, 2005. Owners may contact prevost at 418-831-5432.

• Recall 64376 [USA]: The steering gearbox may become loose affecting steering control, increasing the risk of a crash.
  On certain new "face-lift" motor coaches and motor homes equipped with independent front suspension, a modification was made to the steering gearbox mounting support. The support may develop stress cracks under heavy load conditions.
  dealers will weld three (3) reinforcement brackets to the gear box support. Owner notification began may 2, 2003. Owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact prevost at 1-418-831-5432.

• Recall 64347 [USA]: in such a case, a loss of steering would occur.
  On certain motor coaches and motor homes, the steering columns may be missing the lower bolt and nut. A replacement bolt and nut was installed to correct this situation on the production line. If a replacement bolt has been used and not tightened properly, the column may come out of the input shaft when the steering column adjustment mechanism is used.
  dealers will verify the size of the bolt and nut and replace them if needed. Owner notification began april 4, 2003. Owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact prevost at 1-418-831-5432.

  On certain vehicles, the drag link adjustment collar bolt could contact the pitman arm. As such, the drag link turnbuckle could fracture and fail. A sudden loss of steering control could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the drag link turnbuckle assembly.

  On certain vehicles, premature power steering pressure hose wear may cause a fluid leak. Such a leak would eventually result in a noise from the starving steering pump and increased steering effort. Although the power assist function of the steering would be lost, the driver would maintain steering control. Correction: dealers will inspect and, if required, replace the power steering pressure hose.

  On certain vehicles, the upper and lower steering column may be missing a bolt and nut missing. This could cause the steering column to slip out of the mating shaft when the column's adjustment mechanism is used. If this were to happen, steering function would be completely lost. Correction: dealer will install a bolt and nut if missing. If they are present, dealer will torque to specs.

• Power steering hose leakage investigation # PE05012

  This investigation was opened as the result of odisreview of prevost service bulletin, wb04-10,issued in december 2004 and titled "inspection and replacement of power steering pressure hose.The bulletin addressed the possibility that power steering assist could be lost due to a power steering pressure hose failure.The bulletin instructed the dealer to inspect, replace, and repositioned the hoses throughout the vehicle.As a result of odis investigation, prevost has agreed to conducta safety recall to inspect the power steering hoses for signs of abrading and to replace certain power steering hoses on the subject vehicles.A copy of the safety recall is attached.This action resolves the issues raised by this investigation. Accordingly, this investigation is closed.
