Triumph Thunderbird Storm 2014

• Recall 118072 [USA]: Improper signalling to, and activation of, the fuel injectors could cause the engine to unexpectedly lose power, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.
  Triumph motorcycles america, ltd (triumph) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 triumph thunderbird, thunderbird abs, tiger 800,tiger 800 abs, thruxton, and bonneville motorcycles manufactured february 6, 2014, to august 7, 2014. The engine control unit may improperly activate the fuel injectors.
  triumph will notify owners, and dealers will modify the internal ecu hardware, free of charge. The recall began december 4, 2014. Owners may contact triumph customer service at 1-678-854-2010. Triumph's number for this recall is sb519.

• Recall RM/2014/029 [UK]: Ignition may fail
  Components within the ecu are incompatible when operating at extremes of tolerance. This condition can cause damage to the injector driver and can lead to the injector being constantly on. The engine will either fail to start or if running the fuel injector circuit can malfunction causing one cylinder to lose power.

• Recall 2014495 [Canada]: Engine
  Certain motorcycles may experience an unintended activation of one of the fuel injectors by the engine control unit (ecu). This could result in the engine either not starting, or if already running normally, may lose ignition to one cylinder (caused by excessive fuelling), which would lead to a loss of vehicle propulsion which, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the rider's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: dealers will replace the ecu.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 triumph thunderbird. While driving between 35-55 mph, the contact's motorcycle made an abnormal knocking noise. The noise was loud and a distraction. The vehicle was towed to southern california motorcycles (515 w lambert rd, brea, ca 92821, (714) 256-6700) to be diagnosed, but the test came back incomplete. The dealer stated that the motor was not as noisy as other motorcycles. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that "the motor was not noisy enough". The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 9,100. The vin was invalid.
