Tech Tips Date: October 28, 2016 TT 00-16-02 2000-2017 All Models- Mandatory Fastener Replacement (i.e. Torque to Yield, Stretch Bolts, Locking Nuts) During certain repairs or component replacements, fastener replacement is Mandatory. Review the ELSA repair instructions for the components being serviced to determine if there are fasteners requiring mandatory replacement. Examples would include, but are not limited to these areas: Various Engine bolts such as the cylinder head, crank pulley and flywheel, etc. Brake Calipers, Ball Joint nuts, Strut to Body nuts, Drive Axle to Hub, etc. Steering Wheel to Column, Tie Rod to Wheel Bearing Housing, etc. Page 1 of 1 ver1.2 © 2016 Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.
