Rfid (radio frequency id) tags are being added and used to track non-test ready (ntr) trucks to efficiently locate them once they are off the production line, but still on the premises. The tags are left on the trucks which have been sold.

Action Information Only If a customer comes into your dealership with an RFID tag on the rear end of the frame, the tag can be easily removed by the dealer or PDI center, even though initial tag says, “Do Not Remove”. The RFID tags are not capable of tracking trucks off the Peterbilt campus in Denton. Warranty No warranty offered, Information Only. Parts No parts are involved, Information Only. Background T he Peterbilt plant in Denton is trialing an RFID tag proof of concept which will likely go into production.
