• Recall 237348 [USA]: An engine compartment fire increases the risk of injury.
  Ford motor company (ford) is recalling certain 2020-2023 escape, 2022-2023 maverick, and 2021-2023 corsair vehicles equipped with 2.5l hev or phev engines. In the event of an engine failure, engine oil and fuel vapor may be released into the engine compartment and accumulate near ignition sources such as hot engine or exhaust components, possibly resulting in an engine compartment fire.
  owners are advised to park and shut off the engine as quickly as possible if they hear unexpected engine noises, notice a reduction in vehicle power, or see smoke. Dealers will replace the engine long-block in 2023 escape and corsair vehicles. For the other vehicles, dealers will update the powertrain control module software. If a connecting rod bearing failure is detected, dealers will replace the engine long-block. All inspections and repairs will be performed free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed june 23, 2023. Second letters will be mailed once the remedy is available, anticipated 2nd quarter 2024. • Recall 234105 [USA]: An audible warning chime that does not properly alert of an unbelted seat belt can increase the risk of injury during a crash.
  Ford motor company (ford) is recalling certain 2020-2023 lincoln aviator and 2020-2022 lincoln corsair vehicles equipped with a revel audio system. When the driver's seat belt is not buckled and the vehicle is started, the seat belt warning system may activate the audible warning chime for an insufficient amount of time of less than 4 seconds. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard number 208, "occupant crash protection."

  Ford motor company (ford) is recalling certain 2020-2021 edge, 2020 lincoln nautilus and ford escape and 2021 lincoln corsair and ford bronco sport vehicles. An inadequate amount of lubricant in the rear drive unit may cause seizure of the rear drive axle.
  ford will notify owners, and dealers will check the rear drive unit lubricant level. Axles found to have lubricant at the minimum level will be filled to the full level.   Issue: on certain vehicles equipped with a 360-degree camera, a software problem could cause the rearview camera image to not appear on the sync display screen. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the transmission is shifted into reverse gear. Safety risk: a rearview camera image that does not display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective actions: ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to update the image processing module (ipmb) software.

  Issue: on certain vehicles, the rear drive unit was not properly filled with oil. As a result, the rear axle could seize. If this happens, the rear wheels could lock up and cause a loss of power to the wheels. Safety risk: a rear-wheel lock up while driving could cause a loss of control that could result in a crash. Corrective actions: ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a ford or lincoln dealer to check the oil level in the rear drive unit. If the drive unit is filled to the minimum oil level, it will be topped up to the full level. If the oil is below the minimum level, the drive unit will be replaced.

• Pedestrian alert sounds investigation # DP22005

  Nhtsa received a petition on or about july 18, 2022, requesting that federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) 141 be applied to all electric and hybrid vehicles operating in the united states. The petition can be reviewed at nhtsa.Gov under odi number 11486072.Fmvss 141 establishes performance requirements for pedestrian alert sounds for motor vehicles. The standard applies to hybrid and electric vehicles that have a gross vehicle weight rating of 4,536 kg or less or are defined as low-speed vehicles. The standard became fully applicable to all such vehicles manufactured on or after march 1, 2021.The petitioner asserts that hybrid and electric vehicles to which the standard does not apply should be found to contain a safety defect. In support of the petition, the petitioner includes findings contained in a bill introduced in the house of representatives in 2009, the pedestrian safety enhancement act of 2009, h.R. 734, 111th cong. (2009). A related bill, the pedestrian safety enhancement act of 2010, became law in january 2011 (pub. L. 111-373). The petitioner requests that nhtsa require all electric and hybrid vehicles comply with fmvss 141, regardless of production date.The defect petition has been opened to evaluate the issue and determine whether to grant or deny the petition.The associated product list is not exhaustive and may contain vehicles that are equipped with pedestrian alert sounds.

The main cabin heating system does not reach and maintain desired temperature settings whether in auto mode or in a manual selection. Heated steering wheel heats up momentarily and then cools down even though the button is still on. Dealer technicians were able to recreate the same on other corsairs on lot. My opinion thinks it lies in the computer module that controls these functions and may need to re=programmed. Have not tried the a/c mode as we are in late winter. I purchased the vehicle in the last 30+ days and only have 600 miles on the vehicle. My previous lincoln mkc was equipped similarly and never had these issues in 3 years.
