• Recall 95040 [USA]: Cracked fuel pipes or loose fuel pipe flare nuts may leak fuel. a fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source may result in a vehicle fire.
  Mitsubishi fuso truck of america (mfta) is recalling certain model year 2005-2007 fe83d, fe84d, fe85d, and fg84d trucks; manufactured from may 27, 2004, through may 14, 2007. The fuel pipes may crack due to an improper manufacturing process. Additionally, the fuel pipe flare nuts may have been insufficiently tightened.
  mfta will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the fuel pipes and tighten or replace them as needed, free of charge. The safety recall began on january 21, 2013. Owners may contact mfta at 1-856-467-4500.

• Recall 74330 [USA]: All of the rubber cushions could crack, allowing the air intake duct to fall off of the truck increasing the risk of crash.
  Mitsubishi fuso is recalling certain model year 2005 through 2010 fe83d, fe84d, fe85d and fg84d vehicles. The weather resistance properties of the air intake duct rubber cushions is insufficient. During normal vehicle operation, the rubber cushions deteriorate and crack, causing abnormal noise.

• Recall 37396 [USA]: The engine could stall and would not restart increasing the risk of a crash.
  On certain trucks, the cylinder head idler gear bushing may have been improperly machined, causing excessive stress on the cylinder head idler gear shaft. Continued operating in this condition could cause the idler gear shaft flange to break and generate abnormal engine noise or engine oil leaks.
  on vehicles with less than 15,000 miles, if the idler gear and bushing assembly, idler gear shaft and bolt will be replaced. If the mileage is more than 15,000 miles, the inside diameter of the idler gear bushing will be measured and if the bushing measures more than 32.043mm (1.262"), the idler gear and bushing assembly, idler gear shaft and bolt will be replaced.   On certain trucks, the door wiring harness interferes with the turn signal and hazard lamp wiring harness due to improper routing.

  On certain trucks, one or more fuel pipes may crack due to an improper pipe manufacturing process. In addition, the fuel pipe flare nuts may have been insufficiently tightened. Repeated normal high fuel injection pressure application may crack the pipe, causing a fuel leak. Leaking fuel could come in contact with high temperature components and catch fire, causing possible injury and/or damage to property. Correction: dealers will inspect and replace high pressure fuel pipes showing evidence of improper manufacture.

If this happens, brake power assist could become inoperable, leading to increased vehicle stopping distance. Note: on the fe83d, fe84d and fg84d models, the hose provides vacuum to the brake booster. On the fe85d, the hose provides vacuum to the exhaust brake system. Correction: dealers will inspect and, if required, replace the vacuum hose.

Previously reported severe rust & rot of chassis / frames. This is a 6 yr old truck showing accelerated signs of rust large blisters 6-8" in dia of rust are pushing out from beneath the undercoat and paint. If this progresses as in my older trucks this truck will be unsafe and unusable in 3-5 years. Problem has been reported to the manufacturer with no response! *js

Tl*the contact owns a 2005 mitsubishi fuso fe83d. The contact had problems with the fuel pump and the fuel injected. The dealer stated that they had to use a high pressure fuel pump because of the clean air regulations which caused the fuel lines to break apart into the engine and cause it to fail. The failure mileage was 157846 and the current mileage was 158300. Updated 9/1/10 *cn the fuel pump and injectors were replaced. Updated 09/14/10

Engine failed in traffic second time the first time mitsubishi fixed it under warranty 25k miles same thing happened and they will not fix the vehicle. *tr
