* * TECHNICAL INFORMATION NOTICE * * DATE: August 13, 2020 TO: Mitsubishi Motors US & Puerto Rico Dealer Parts and Service Managers RE: Waterborne Paint Process in the US TIN NO. TIN-20-42A-001 AFFECTED VEHICLES: All Mitsubishi Vehicles PURPOSE: MMNA has recently received information from Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) about the effects of the Waterborne (WB) paint process on Mitsubishi vehicles. MMC highly recommends this relatively new process for all Mitsubishi vehicles because of its benefit to the environment by eliminating the use of solvent in the painting process. MMC also recommends the process because of the reduction in time, up to 40% less, it takes to complete the painting process which will reduce labor cost. MMNA will continue to support the introduction of this new process in US market at those facilities that perform body and paint repair on Mitsubishi vehicles. MMNA has included additional information on the MDL for dealers and body shops to review regarding this topic.
