NHTSA Mandated Recalls
  • Recall 86186 [USA]: If the collar weld separates, the vehicle handling will deteriorate, possibly resulting in a vehicle crash.
Nissan is recalling certain front and rear lower links, p/nos. 54501zq00a, 54500zq00a, 551a1zq00a, 551a0zq00a , 54501ea00a, 54500ea00a, 551a1ea500, 551a0ea500, 54501zr00a, and 54500zr00a, sold between november 25, 2009 and may 14, 2010 as replacement parts for model year 2004 through 2010 titan, armada, and qx56, and model years 2005 through 2010 frontier, xterra, and pathfinder vehicles. The lower control link assembly has two cylindrical collars forming the inboard attachment points to the chassis. Due to an improper welding process some collars may contain welds that do not meet strength specifications.
nissan will notify owners and dealers will replace any affected lower link free of charge. The safety recall began on july 12, 2010. Owners may contact nissan at 1-800-647-7261.
owners may also contact the national highway traffic safety administration's vehicle safety hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (tty 1-800-424-9153), or go to http://www.Safercar.Gov .

  • Recall 83777 [USA]: This issue could result in the non-deployment of the driver and passenger front air bags in a crash, increasing the risk of personal injury.
Nissan is recalling 242,720 my 2005-2009 pathfinder, frontier and xterra vehicles originally sold in or currently registered in the states of connecticut, delaware, illinois, indiana, iowa, maine, maryland, massachusetts, michigan, minnesota, missouri, new hampshire, new jersey, new york, ohio, pennsylvania, rhode island, vermont, west virginia, wisconsin, and the district of columbia. In those areas of the country which use heavy concentrations of road salt in the winter, a mixture of snow/water and salt can enter into the front crash zone sensor (czs) housing. If this occurs, the czs may internally rust resulting in a signal interruption. If this happens, the red air bag warning light will illuminate to alert the vehicle operator.
dealers will replace the front czs with a redesigned sensor. The recall began on january 26, 2009. Owners in the other states will receive extended warranty coverage for the sensor to 10 years. These owners will be notified of the warranty extension by mail and will receive a sticker to place in their warranty booklet explaining the extended warranty coverage. Owners may contact nissan at 1-800-647-7261.
customers may also contact the national highway traffic safety administration's vehicle safety hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (tty 1-800-424-9153), or go to http://www.Safercar.Gov .

  • Recall R/2012/036 [UK]: Driver seat fault
The drivers power seat harness may become trapped between the metal seat bracket and the seat lifter mechanism. If the vehicle continues to be driven in this condition damage to the harness may occur and this can result in loss of operation of the driver's power seat. In extreme circumstances unexpected self-operation of the driver's power seat base may occur.
inspection of the driver's power seat harness for correct installation rectify if necessary. If the harness is damaged it will be replaced with new.

  • Recall 2019420 [Canada]: Other
Issue: this recall is for aftermarket replacement rear window glass produced by vitro automotriz. Certain rear window glass may not have been properly tempered. If the window breaks, the glass may separate into large pieces instead of very small ones. Note: this is a voluntary recall that is not being conducted under the requirements of the motor vehicle safety act. Safety risk: glass that breaks in to large pieces could create a risk of injury. Corrective actions: the company will notify consumers by mail and instruct them to inspect the designation code marked on the rear window glass. Products affected by this recall have the designation “dot 287” along with the lettering “vmr” (replacement market) and a date code that is before july 2019. This information is printed on the bottom corner of the glass. Consumers should contact vitro's customer service at 1-412-995-6457 or [email protected] to arrange for replacement of the glass.

  • Recall 2008454 [Canada]: Airbag
On certain vehicles operated in areas of heavy road salt usage, the front crash zone sensor (czs) may rust internally. This could result in the non-deployment of the driver and passenger front airbags during a vehicle crash, increasing the risk of personal injuries or death in certain crash conditions. Correction: dealers will replace the crash zone sensor.

To ensure accuracy and for your safety, it is recommended to do a free VIN recall check here or here [USA] - UK - Canada.

The transmission began to slip. Slow moving . Then vehicle would not start. Engine code U1000. Had the vehicle towed to a repair shop. They replaced the started. I paid them 400.00. I got in the vehicle it would not start. The mechanic replaced a 20a fuse in the fuse box for the ecu. Drove vehicle home, then would not start again. Researched online stumbled onto article about defective nissan transmission being a ticking time bomb. Check transmission fluid, strawberry milk shake. Radiator fluid dark. Thanks nissan , i bought this vehicle used, found out the engine was bad, spent 8000.00 replacing the engine and now the transmission and radiator are bad. I will never purchase another nissan. Why wasn't there a recall for the radiator ???

Just purchased my 2007 nissan pathfinder le ( 4x4) with 55,000 miles on it ( our fault sign unseen) from out of state ( florida dealership) i believe it was originally a va car. We had it hauled up via truck to wisconsin. Now mind you we have paid for this car already so we had no choice but to take it. I moved it out of the way until i could get it licensed, my husband then started it when he got home and he went around the block and then check engine light went on. The gas gauge showed full however when i pulled it out of the wayafter driving around a couple of blocks it went to e and the light came on. My husband went to fill it up thinking that may help, but it would not allow him to fill it, it would put some in, then stop, he did that 5 times and gave up. We checked online for any recalls and found there were several one of them being a fuel sensor issue. We called the dealership we got it from and they said any recalls have since been expired. Being we are the 2nd owner of this vehicle we don't know if the first owner did anything if there were recalls. How can we find this out? If there is a way to show this, and they did nothing about it, is there a way to get these fixed under warranty? Also, is there a way to see if the code we are getting has been in the cars memory for some time ? Most importantly is if the recalls were never take care of, is there an exception that can be made to fix the recalls that were put out there for this model? Any assistance would be great! The date below on when this happened is based on when we first got it how long its been going on we don't know. Again if there is a way to see its history through the computer we would like to know how to go about finding that out.

I was driving and suddenly the check engine light came on, i drove home and the next week i went to replace my brakes and ask the workshop to do a scan to let me know why the light is on, they did and 2 codes came up which the shop said they did not see before so they cleared the system and said if it comes on again to take it back so they can fully investigate. I went on 9/28 to another workshop they did a scan and the code P1772 came on after inspecting the mechanic showed me the radiator cap with some thick gooey stuff telling me the radiator is bad and the coolant is mixing with transmission fluid and vice versa. Before this the car would run and when i at a stop sign and try to move it would rev to 4-5 stalls and then move, they are also times of sudden jerk and acceleration. They have also been twice when i tried to reverse the vehicle would not move, i had to turn off the engine then restart before i could reverse.. Defective radiator cracks leading to coolant mixing with transmission fluid, now need to replace radiator and transmission

While driving today the rpms went crazy and i almost wrecked . The car would spudder and then rev up. Also, at a stop light when trying to go the car seems to barely move and acts like it's going to die. Now we have transmission problems and have had to replace radiator, hoses, and all fluids in transmission and radiator.

2007 pathfinder was being driven on a city street and stalled while in motion. Was able to steer away from traffic. Steering was hard to maneuver. After repeated times of cranking it would not start.. Vehicle was towed to owners residence. When being dropped off owner started vehicle and was able to move it into driveway. No check engine light of any sort was lit. After a couple of days vehicle was being driven around the block and stalled again. Waited for about 25 minutes to cool off and engine turned on again but stalled . After a couple of repeated trys was able to drive vehicle back into driveway. Again no codes lit.

I was driving down the highway with my kids when the vehicle started to overheat and when i pulled over the vehicle started to smoke and shut down. The vehicle was then towed to my house. I had a family mechanic look at the vehicle and was told the radiator cracked. I ordered a radiator and it was put it. Then found out that water had gotten into the transmission fluid. Went and bought the transmission fluid j specifically for nissan and was going to flush the transmission fluid and add more it was then that the transmission started slipping and white smoke was coming out of the exhaust. Where i was told the head gasket is cracked. I am still making payments on this car and have no vehicle to drive to work or school.

There was no milky fluid so we simply replaced transmission with a used tranny. 6 months later 2nd tranny failed with only 1st & 2nd working. We took both transmissions to a specialist. He explained that the current antifreeze does not leave milky fluid and both transmissions were contaminated. This means that the radiator was leaking into the transmission causing the failure of both. He told us this is a known issue with the pathfinder.

2007 nissan pathfinder with 112,000 miles was driven to fred anderson nissan in asheville for service regarding issues with the transmission shifting improperly. After waiting 4 hours, i was delivered a quote for over $7,000 regarding replacement of my radiator, transmission, thermostat, and airbag system. I had just bought this vehicle off of ebay from individuals in new braunfels , texas drove it back to amarillo , texas. I went to drop a load of items off at amarillo's giving closet for people in need. It ran perfect on the way over there. I turned the ignition off while i was unloading everything. When i went to start my vehicle it would not start although the lights and things would come on. The vehicle was later towed to a shop and i was told that it was being caused by the vehicle control. Now the transmission is messed up acts if there is no 1st or 2nd gear taking off in 3rd gear automatic transmission. Since then my husband was pinned under a seminar trailer he was working on and lost his leg. I can not afford to pay for another vehicle. Please help me. I was just informed of a problem with nissan and this.

The transmission started shifting rough. At 65 mph on i25 the tranny clanked, and dropped to first gear. I had to pull over, restart. It did it again, but had a burning smell. It threw the code P1774. A single dealership care for all maintenance work, on time for 10 years, did all recall type work. Fix quotes are coming back between $3500-$4500, which after buying a house and a surprise pregnancy i can't afford putting my livelihood at risk

Nissan failed radiator that damaged transmission. Took my car in after service engine light turned on and mechanic identified the code and the problem being the transmission valve body damaged. After further research, it is a faulty radiator that leaked and allowed water to mix into the transmission causing damage. I searched and found this is a common problem that nissan has failed to address other than forcibly through a class action suit that is closed. The responsibility of nissan for not correcting this defect and allowing these costs to be on the shoulder's of the consumer is negligent.

The vehicle started vibrating very roughly and loudly during acceleration, then suddenly the transmission completely failed while my daughter was driving it on a very busy frontage road to the highway. She was able to steer it onto the shoulder before it stopped coasting; and several people stopped to help her push it into safety in a nearby parking lot. After having it towed to a repair shop, the mechanic informed us that the radiator fluid had leaked through cracks into the transmission fluid, causing irreversible damage to the transmission. Upon researching the problem, we discovered this was a known and acknowedged problem with 2005-2010 nissan pathfinders, but neither a recall nor a warning was ever issued. We are now beyond the warranty coverage in time and in mileage, so nissan will not cover any of the expenses to repair.

Coolant and transmission fluid are mixed causing the car to not shift properly. I was not told of this issue when i purchased the car in 2010 from the nissan dealer - even though it was a known condition. This is the 2nd time the transmission is failing, so it'll be my 3rd transmission. The first time it happened, the car had 70k miles. Now it has 115,000. So the 2nd transmission lasted about 45k miles. Nissan wants me to pay $3000 of the $5,850 estimate. If i knew this car was going to be this much trouble, i wouldn't have purchased it. I really think nissan should be doing a better job owning up to this issue and covering the expenses for their poor quality.

NoNoN NoneNone20180103

In 2007, i purchased a new nissan pathfinder, unaware of any defects. In 2011, i began having problems with my truck not producing heat while it was idle. Nissan stated that the coolant looked dark and advised me that their was air in the line. Once again, i'm having trouble with the heat and now i'm being told the transmission and coolant fluids are intermixed, and that it would cost between $7 and 8 thousand dollars because i need to replace both the transmission and the radiator. When i took my truck to nissan in 2011, and they knew the coolant was dark, i should have been made aware of the defect with the radiator assembly because my issues most likely had already started, and now, it's gotten worse. I was never advised of this problem until now.

NoNoN NoneNone20171218

I bought my 07 pathfinder in july and the dealership had done repair on the radiator at their expense, and replaced the coolant and tranny fluids and stated there was no cross contamination. However, the vehicle stopped shifting properly and we couldn't tell if it was the tranny, abs, or 4wd getting caught. As of yesterday the tranny wouldn't change gears. Restarting the car helped. But since there was no recall there is no history of any other work. All maintenance was kept up with the same dealership for the majority of the vehicles life. After the vehicle has been at a stop, and moved to accelerate it wouldn't go into gear/drive then all of a sudden would ?Catch? And would launch.

NoNoN NoneNone20171116

Vehicle is currently at 200,000 miles. Without notice and under usual checks and tune-ups the radiator failed causing the engine coolant to mix with the transmission fluid. Now, subsequently the transmission has coolant mixed with transmission fluid. Nissan has taken no ownership of the defect except to recommend replacing the radiator at the owners expense. My vehicle is now in the shop awaiting a $3,500.00 transmission overhaul to see what is salvageable.

I had noticed fluid leaking from under the front /right portion of my vehicle after i parked. I opened the hood and the reserve cap to the radiator had come loose. After letting my vehicle cool, i inspected both the reserve tank and radiator and noticed the fluid was now a milky/frothy substance. After some detective work, i learned that this is a common issue with pathfinders from 2005- through 2010 that nissan has ignored to fix. The transmission fluid cooler in the radiator assembly "fails" causing contamination to the internal transmission components ,and damage to the internal transmission computer. There are no warning signs up to or just prior to the failures. After contacting nissan and receiving a denial to fix our truck under a warranty, i am stuck with a vehicle with several "thousands of dollars" in repairs all due to nissan ignoring a known defect and not issuing a recall on all vehicles in the "known" year bracket with these issues. I'm sure nothing will be done regarding this issue due to there not being a major loss of lives involved, i.E. Takata airbags, but i find it is my duty to add my name to an already hefty list of other nissan pathfinder owners that have experienced this same problem.

NoNoN NoneNone20170710

Takata recall . We were on our way back home with our children and a the pathfinder made it made a loud noise so we pulled over off the highway and the pathfinder wouldn't start. We had to call a tow truck to tow us home. We waited on the side of the road for 3 hours with a 10 year old and a 3 month old. We are very disappointed and after doing some research i found that the 2007 pathfinder appears to have a widespread defect where coolant leaks into the transmission, causing transmission failure around 100,000 miles. Repair costs are typically upwards of $4,500.

NoNoN NoneNone20170623

The transmission failed after radiator fluid mixed with the transmission fluid. We became fully aware of the problem when my daughter could not start the car. She was at a park with her two young children and 50 miles from home. It was very distressing. The local nissan dealer will charge over $4,000 plus taxes for the repairs. Most of this expense could have been avoided if we had been informed about the defect at an earlier time. ## vin passed ## nissan pathfinder 2007 ##

I started having the problem with my 2007 nissan pathfinder on april 6, 2017 while i was driving home from work. It was shuddering and it wouldn't move when i stepped on the accelerator or put it in reverse. There were no warning signs before. I had it towed to my mechanic 45 min. Away. Later that day i learned that the radiator had broken and the water and gone into the transmission and destroyed the transmission. Someone told me that they had that same problem with their nissan so i looked online and lo and behold...This was a big issue with nissan. The nissan dealer referred me to consumer affairs for nissan. They told me that i would have to have it towed from my repair person down to the nissan dealership to be evaluated. Consumer affairs for nissan agreed to have me pay $3,000 copay and they would pay the rest even though my car was 2 weeks past the warranty date and it was 13,000 miles over. I, as a consumer, was never notified that this was an issue with my car. If i had, i probably would have replaced the radiator at $800 instead of the transmission and radiator for $5700. My pathfinder stopped defrosting/heating when the vehicle is idle. This is a symptom of the well known cracked radiator problem that leads to transmission failure in many 2005-2010 pathfinders at around 95,000 mileage. The safety concern is that i like many others have to get to work on time and end up driving these vehicles without the windows being properly defrosted. This causes clear vision issues and increases the probability of getting in an accident, a major safety concern. For this reason, i would seriously consider instituting a recall to replace the radiators.

In 2010, nissan recalled many 2006 and 2008 nissan pathfinders (10v-075) for a fuel gauge inaccuracy issue, where the gauge would "show that the vehicle still has some fuel, typically about one quarter tank, when the fuel tank is actually empty." oddly, nissan then sent out an ntb (ntb07-069d) later in 2010 to remedy the same issue on many more nissan models, including 2005-2008 pathfinders. Why this defect initially deserved a recall and then only a less noticeable ntb is unclear. Our own 2007 pathfinder was apparently was not included in the recall, but it has developed exactly the same fuel sensor problem. This suggests that nissan failed to fully recall all models affected by the fuel sensor defect, and the subsequent ntb (the warranty for which has already passed) provided no protection for the problem when it developed. I do not understand why nissan would recall only a few models affected by this defect and ignore the fact that the defect was present in many more models. I also don't understand why nhtsa would allow such a partial recall. Why would a recall only apply to some of the affected vehicles?

On friday, august the 8th on the way to work on the interstate i accelerated going up a hill and the gear change in the transmission was extremely rough. It was like when a manual transmission is knocked out of gear, of course this vehicle is an automatic transmission. Like a manual transmission being knocked out of gear the vehicle had a very quick deceleration although i as still pressing the gas pedal. This almost caused the car behind me to rear end me. Eventually the vehicle acted like it went back in gear. When i exited off of the interstate, came to a stop at the end of the off ramp, and tried to accelerate the vehicle again acted like the motor was engaging but not the transmission, almost causing another rear end collision. I managed to get the vehicle to the parking lot at work. It set there for the day until i was leaving to go home. The vehicle would not start. The vdc and slip lights would come on when i attempted to start. I left the vehicle at work. I returned on saturday. I got a auto code from the vehicle of P0717 referring to the turbine speed sensor. I found the 10 amp a/t ecu fuse was blown. I replaced the fuse and the vehicle cranked but immediately blew the fuse again and would not start again if turned off. I left the vehicle and did some research finding the issue with the radiator fluid contaminating the transmission and causing the transmission to go out. My company mechanic and i looked at the vehicle on monday and found the radiator empty of fluid and the transmission fluid contaminated. Someone is going to be severely injured id this issue is not brought to the owners of these vehicles. The vehicle is still sitting where i left it until i decide whether i am going to have to replace what i am sure is a bad transmission due to a faulty manufacturers design.

Check engine light came on and truck wouldn't shift into overdrive. Pull code P0717 indicating the transmission sensor or computer was out. Took to shop and they said the transmission cooling line in the radiator cracked, the transmission fluid was then mixed with antifreeze, and it fouled the transmission parts and knock out the computer. Transmission had to be replace and the shop noted that nissan wouldn't warranty the transmission without replacing the radiator, which they knew had to be done anyway. They said they've seen sooo many of these it's ridiculous. $4,225.43 repair that could have been avoided if we'd just known to replace the $200 radiator.

As a single father of three teenagers, i needed two vehicles with enough room and safety features to handle high school and college needs. I bought two pathfinders, a 2007 se and 2008 le, one for myself and one for my son (which would be passed on, etc). My decision was based on my previous experience with nissan products and my loyalty to the brand. However, i now have both pathfinders needing major repairs to their automatic transmissions. The 2008 pathfinder's transmission failed in very heavy houston traffic while driving with my younger son, which caused other vehicles to slam on their brakes and almost created a large pile-up on a major highway. While we avoided being killed by oncoming vehicles, we were also in danger as we moved the car to the side of the highway. After towing the vehicle to a reputable transmission shop, he found the issue to be a known problem with the coolant fluid leaking into the automatic transmission, causing total failure. Estimates are over $6,000 for rebuilding or replacing the transmission with parts and labor, including the required addition of a "cooler" instead of the radiator. I attempted to file this with my car insurance but was denied coverage. Now, the 2007 pathfinder is having the same symptoms with slippage and inability to use overdrive, which almost cause another multi-car pile-up in houston traffic until i was able to downshift and move aside. It's only a matter of time before the 2007 pathfinder transmission also fails completely, and i still owe $12,000 to the credit union on both loans combined. I attempted a loan for repairs through the transmission shop, but was denied due to bad credit from a lay-off last year. Nissan, please issue a recall for those of us without hope and unable to buy a new vehicle. This is your chance to save lives and boost your brand to a higher level, through integrity.

3rd event. Driving at highway speed, engine loses power, will not accelerate over 30 mph. On previous events reverse remained useful and vehicle recovered. Taken to shop, told nothing could be found wrong and event did not recur on their test drive. Continued to drive vehicle many months, no issue. This event, car would not reverse and was driven to the home of my family where i was ending my vacation. Now stranded 4 hours from home. Called out from work tomorrow to research and decide what actions to take.

Car would not start. Local mechanic could not figure out why. Towed 30 miles to dealership. Nissan knows this is an issue, however the mileage is too high for them to help me out at all.

Radiator defect, that nissan has known since 2012, class action suit, for pathfinders and xterras leaked fluid into transmission blowing my transmission. Nissan replaced transmission and radiator but charged me $3,000 as co-pay. Nissan has been aware of this issue for a while and yet never subject of recall nor were owners notified of this engineering defect of the radiator. Nissan refused to indemnify me for the co-pay claiming i was lucky i got that from them. When questioned as to why these radiators were never recalled, they refused to respond and stated they were under no obligation to notify owners of this defect. My transmission and radiator went while i was driving the vehicle causing my car to swerve almost resulting in an accident. This is an extremely dangerous defect it is absurd that the owners should have to pay anything because of this radiator that was engineered defective.

I was driving when my nissan pathfinder 2007 out right when i got in the middle of in intersection my car just didn't want to go i was pressing on the gas and it would go it then it would start going again but wouldn't go faster then 20mph then again it would stop n wouldnt move i took it to a shop to get it checked out they told me my radiator failed and cause liquid to go into my tramission which cause that to fail ...So i called nissan about the recall i read about fail radiator and tramission they told me they couldn't help me

Vehicle started vibrating at 40mph took it to a mechanic they advised that the radiator needed to be replaced and that the radiator and transmission fluids mixed, replaced the radiator flushed the transmission vehicle was at 90,000 miles drove the car another year with slight vibration still at 40mph now it is at 106,000 miles transmission is slipping when it warms up won't come out of 2nd gear looking at having to rebuild the transmission for 4500.00, the radiator was 400.00 plus an outside cooler for the transmission an additional 200.00. Had i been made aware of a potential problem i may have been covered because under 80,000 miles i had an issue with the vehicle not heating up when idol the heat would only work when i drove the car and the service engine light was on but the diagnoses was a fuel cap 3 gas caps later the engine light is still on and i had a heating element replaced but it seems that the heating issue is a sign of the transmission issue. Nissan should have made it's customers aware of the issue i purchased the vehicle in 2010 with 13.000 miles on it they were well aware of the problems. I contacted nissan and there response was what would you like us to do i don't think the class action suit was fair to the consumer i don't qualify due to the cut off date and now the mileage but i would rather give a transmission shop 3500.00 rather than give nissan 3500.00 i feel that i already paid them enough and for them to know of this issue and not notify the consumer is terrible i have 3 children i drive on the highway in fact i had my 2 year old in the vehicle when the transmission wouldn't come out of 2nd gear it slowed from 60mph to 30mph luckily i was able to pull into the breakdown lane and switch into neutral and back into drive to get it to shift so i could make it to the nearest exit.

Coolant has leaked into my transmission. My vehicle currently has 88000 miles and my transmission has started slipping. I took it to my mechanic who checked the transmission fluid and he said "yeah, it's a mixer". Referring to the coolant that leaked into the transmission. According to him im not the only person who has brought in their nissan with this issue.I went to nissan but they said there is no recall. After checking online it seems there was a class action suit brought against nissan back in 2012 but it seems like i can't be part of it since the deadline has passed. I hope there is a recall soon so i can get my truck fixed.

It started when my pathfinder would make shuddering noises and vibrate heavily while accelerating. I later found out that my radiator had cracked and caused coolant to leak into the transmission. I had the radiator replaced and the transmission flushed. But that was only the tip of the iceberg. After driving my car for a couple of weeks it completely lost power while i was driving on city streets and i was left stranded on a really hot day with dogs in the car. Apparently once the leaking radiator fluid mixed with the transmission fluid this lethal combination killed the valves, seals and torque converter -- rendering my entire transmission useless. No amount of flushing the transmission was going to save it. The total repair cost over $6000.00 and nissan is well aware of this issue in their cars yet have not done the right thing and issued a recall.

Started hearing a loud knocking when putting my car in park or other gears. Took it in for my regular scheduled service and told the service writer at nissan what was going on. He checked it and said he would not let me drive it and offered a rental , told me he would call. Well surprise $7600 price tag, said nothing about the recall, i found that myself. But he told me nissan would pay part and my co-pay is $3000. He told me the inter cooler in the radiator had cracked and leaked, sending fluids into my transmission and killing it. On top of that they want to replace with a re-manufactured transmission. According to the extended warranty guidelines of the class action suit, my vehicle just turned 9 yrs. Approx. 3 weeks ago and only has 79,000 miles. You would think since it's only 3 weeks out of 8 yrs. And within the 80, 000 they would replace for free. I was never even notified of the recall, i have my car serviced at the dealership i purchased from, i don't understand why they didn't tell me or take action before this happened. I have contacted nissan north america, who knows maybe they will do proper business and fix their manufacturing defect.

On march 14th 2016. We purchased a nissan pathfinder 2007, on the day it was purchased? It shut down in the grocery store parking lot! We had it towed back to the dealer, got it back? And then the car shut down again in the middle of the street! In a high traffic area! My husband cant walk far because of his disability and we had to sit in the car and wait till the tow truck came! March 7,2017 the day after our first payment! The dealership then told us it was a leak in the radiator coolant hose due to some flaw in design! They told us it would cost 1500 minimum to fix! We owned the car less than a month! Made one payment! And now we can't drive it or afford to fix it! Because our vehicle has 100,000 miles nissan, instead of just fixing their engine flaw?Wants to charge us 3,000 dollars to fix it! We are on a fixed income both my husband and i are disabled, and financed into a truck that could have killed us! This needs to be a straight and fair recall with no cost to the consumer! This car could have shut down anywhere! Leaving us stranded! Or worse!

"takata recall" out of the clear blue i was driving my 2007 pathfinder and the airbag light came on, i took it to the dealership immediately that day and it passed per service manager louis castillo at baker jackson nissan in houston texas, 2 days later the light came back on and once again i went to the dealer ship and was told that the sensors and other parts needed to be replaced the cost is $1500. I called nissan corp and they are refusing to taking responsibility even though they stated all 2007 pathfinders in other states would be given a 10 year warranty. My truck was also affected with the radiator flulid mixing with the transmission fluid, during the years of 2010-2012 i constantly took my truck to baker jackson nissan and the service manager then larry just topped off my truck himself and never made a record of it. He kept assuring me that he was saving me money. My transmission failed but because of the mileage in 2012 nissan was able to deny fixing my transmission via the class action lawsuit. I ended up spending $4800 for a new transmission. In 2010 nissan convinced me to replace my train for $1600, i never knew it was a recall until today. Another caveat to this mess is that baker jackson changed their computer system and has no record of me replacing my train. I have a bank statement to prove it if necessary.

After hearing a lot of about this problem i decided to make a complaint because it is not fair for anyone to go through this. My 2007 pathfinder suddenly lost complete power and it wouldn't start at all after having a mechanic check it he gave me a diagnose that it was the transmission which i didn't believe i said what does the transmission has to do with power but it has a lot to do after i did some research it comes to this. The coolant on the vehicle gets inside the transmission and mixes with the oil causing the tcm (transmission control module) to fail and not to sent signal so the vehicle will start. So now i have to repair the transmission and the radiator cost will be more than 3000 dollars. I been the only owner of this car and have take good care of it as much as i can i just pay off this car 2 years ago and i don't think is fair for us that had has this problems to paid for it i think nissan america should do a recall on this and help us the consumers.

Why do company do customer like that it is such a shame to live in such a greedy world where people care only for themselves. So due to the problem i did a web search and found this cracked transmission line allowing coolant leak in to the transmission, so i checked the resevour and radiator and both had atf contamination. I then called the nissan dealer and they claimed to have no idea what i could be talking about. The class action lawsuit filed in late 2012 stated that all dealers were notified. From what i am reading online there are thousands of vehicles with this issue.

My suv was diagnosed with a defective radiator and now has issues with the transmission cooler pipes splitting causing cross contamination between the radiator coolant & transmission fluid. Which resulted in a failure to the automatic transmission. The cross contamination had to have a new transmission, transmission cooler hoses & radiator replaced. Reading multiple sites it appears nissan know about the defect and didn't warn is customers, even when i took my car to get serviced at the nissan dealers. This is bad business and customers should not be financially responsible. I hope the person reading this has the courage to do something about it. It appears that corporations have the power. Thank you.

I was driving my 2007 pathfinder with my 3 children in the back when the tires suddenly seemed to be slipping. I wasn't sure what was going on until i was on a big hill and car suddenly wouldn't go into gear. The transmission had blown on me, almost instantaneoulsy with little to no warning signs. The car started rolling backwards on the hill and luckily nobody was behind us. I hit the breaks and stopped the car. It had to be towed and i was stunned when my mechanic said the transmission was dead and it would cost around 3k to fix! "there was only 85k miles on the car and the transmission just blows like that," i asked him? He told me that this was a problem very common with some nissan cars. I immediately went online and found out that this is known problem with nissan pathfinders and xterras, due to fault manufacturing and a lawsuit was brought up against them (a few years before this happened to me). I feel it's outrageous that these cars can still be sold by the dealer (we bought it used with 60k miles on it) without some sort of warning label on it. Thank god my kids didn't get hurt somehow, because it was quite a hazardous situation when the transmission fails suddenly at the top of a big, long hill! If my kids had gotten hurt, i probably could have sued them for a billion dollars, but since i acted quickly, nobody was hurt, and thus, nobody at nissan seemed to care when i complained. They should be held accountable for fault manufacturing! No car's transmissions suddenly break down for no apparent reason with less than 90k miles on it!

Car had begun shuttering and engine would rev real fast. On particular day car actually quit working for good, husband had pulled into parking space because check engine light came on and from that point forward the car will not crank. When car first started shuttering and revving, car was taken to transmission business and there were several cars of the same make and model (not certain that all were of same year) waiting to have transmissions replaced because coolant had leaked into the transmission and gradually killed them. Worker at transmission shop knew exactly what was going on when husband explained what the car was doing, and said there were many people who had had the same complaint.

As i was driving the vehicle on the highway it started to shudder and shake and then finally completely turned off on the highway. Once i got it started again it would only go about 20mph i was able to move over to the shoulder and exit the highway. Once we took the car to the dealer, they told us that the radiator had leaked into the transmission and also that i needed to replace two catalyctic converters. The total repairs and replacements would cost me $8000 as i would also need to replace the transmission and radiator. We replaced the radiator but of course that is only half the problem. I still owe about $13k on the vehicle, have only had it for 8 months and am now stuck because i dont have the money to replace the transmission and i cant get rid of the truck knowing this problem.

Bottom line they told me i needed a new transmission and fixed me hoses for the power steering fluid costing me over $5300.00 with a huge dealership. I just bought this vehicle in february 16, 2015 from a private dealer and now i am stuck with a huge bill to fix something that should have been made a aware of nationally. This vehicle's carfax is awesome and no engine issues which i made it my business to make sure everything is okay with this vehicle. I'm here to submit a complaint against nissan i had to paid 3,000 in repairs for the radiator and transmition because the radiator brakes a certain mileage and the fluid mixes with the transmition fluid causing the transmition failure, this is a problem nissan has to address and recall those cars so the owners wont have to pay for the damage,i'm aware that many owners are having the same issue, there is a class action lawsuit but i seen very little help,i would like to do anything posible in order to get this issue addressed.

The dealer found on my 20007 nissan pathfinder a coolant in transmission and trans fluid in radiator which means there is a cross contamination and an internal transmission cooler failure. Bottom line they told me i needed a new transmission and radiator costing me over $5300.00. In researching cheaper places, i came about with a law suit about 5 years ago regarding this same issue against nissan. I also found many complaints from several people and the dealers are not doing anything about this. I've been told by my local mechanic that this is something that could have been prevented. I don't know why nissan didn't offer a recall on the xterras, and pathfinders and help people like me, not spend thousands of dollars on these vehicles. I am still paying for this car, have only had it for less than 3 years and bought it pre owned. I brought it several times to huntington beach dealer in ca, for the regular maintenance and not even once, i was offered to extend my warranty, or offered to look at my radiator and fix the problem before it became a big issue. I contacted headquarters and i was told i don't qualify for the "extended warranty" it ends at 100k miles and my car is over 124k miles. Also, i would have to pay $3k of my money before the dealer would cover any major repairs... Really???? Is this helping out someone? A lot of my family members own nissans and i have spread the word of how bad these cars are, and when we look for help, they slam the door at our faces. This is not right, this is something that could have been prevented and nissan is making thousands of dollars from hard working people like me, fixing problems, they should have fixed in the first place. I have a 6 year old and pregnant now, and commute over 70 miles back and forth every day, they are lucky my car didn't stop on the freeway and caused a big accident.I would be suing them now.

07 pathfinder (pf) auto, 05/30/15 came out to find pf leaking. Radiator leaking an odd fluid, opened transmission cap and similar fluid bubbled out. Did not drive the car, looked online/called mechanic. Finally called a nissan dealer and 2 transmission places, and as soon as i said our coolant and transmission fluid are frothy & chocolate milk like every place knew we needed a new transmission, radiator, etc. A year ago i bought the car used at a non-nissan dealership, and brought it back then because i noticed a lag/shutter in the shifting sometimes. They were unable to replicate the problem, said it was just a function of the overdrive, and not an issue. I have continued to have a lag/shutter occasionally, but i have thought nothing of it. I was never informed that my transmission could be compromised bc of the radiator issue, & never thought the car to be a danger to anyone. Memorial day weekend 2015, less than a week before the leak referenced above, i had my entire family in the car (sister & her husband & their 9 month old baby, my father, my brother & his 5 months pregnant wife) & noticed the car was having more than normal shifting troubled & a longer lag. We were making our annual trip to the bourne massachusetts veterans cemetery memorial day event, which requires crossing the bourne bridge and navigating several busy rotaries. Looking online at other persons experiences, i know i am lucky that this radiator/trans issue manifested in the safety of my driveway with no one in the vehicle. Why is nissan so lax to communicate to owners of these vehicles that there is a high likelihood that your transmission will be compromised and that certain inspections should be carried out on a regular basis to make sure nothing happens to you and your loved ones? If doesnt tell me, how am i and others supposed to know to be concerned with certain warning signs?

We purchased our 2007 nissan pathfinder on may 21 of this year. Today makes 39 days we've had it. On the 32 day we noticed it was having some roughness in the transmission when changing gears. It felt like we were running over really rough roads or rumble strips. It continued to get worse the longer we drove it. Then around a week ago i put it in reverse and it continued to roll forward. I immediately drove home to inform my husband. When he checked the transmission fluid it appeared to be empty. When he further checked it and cleaned the dip stick it was a tanish colored liquid that was showing up. I went to google and found that many others with this same or similar vehicle was having the same problem, and that the problem was a leak in a radiator hose that runs thru the transmission and leaks fluids back and forth. My husband went to check the radiator and sure enough there is transmission fluid in the radiator and it appeared in the engine as well. So now we have transmission fluid, water, and antifreeze in our transmission, radiator and engine. Nissan needs to step up and take care of this problem. Its clear that this is a flaw in their workmanship. We were told by nissan to bring our pathfinder in for an evaluation and be prepared to pay 2,500.00 dollars. Needless to say we are paying a payment already on a vehicle we have had for one month. We cant afford this kind of repair. So now were stuck with a car we cant even drive.....Updated 09/03/15 *bf

Onset of issue was inspection to determine service engine light. Code P0850 - indicated park/neutral safety switch input circuit. Switch replaced and service engine light back on within 48 hours. Returned additional codes related to transmission. Concurrently the vehicle was stumbling at certain speed/rpm with rumbling noise in drivetrain and hesitation during accelleration. Transmission found to have been contaminated by radiator fluid. Complete rebuild of transmission performed and bypassed radiator transmission cooler with auxiliary cooler to prevent having to replace radiator. Transmission rebuild and rental car for a week >$5000. The consumer requested ti be reimbursed for the cost of repairs. *js

The vehicle had transmission troubles and was taken into a repair facility. There is a crack in the radiator which has caused antifreeze to get into the transmission. I am writing to inform you of an intermittent brake failure/ un-commanded vehicle acceleration problem with the 2007 nissan pathfinder. On april 4, 2015 i brought my 2007 nissan pathfinder to the nissan austin northtown dealership (austin, tx) for scheduled maintenance, which included servicing/replacement of my brakes, pads, and fluids. In the three weeks since this service was completed i have encountered several brake failures in which: (1) the brakes failed to hold pressure resulting in the vehicle accelerating forward from a stop several feet, (2) the vehicle accelerated when applying brake pressure when attempting to slow the vehicle to a stop, (3) the brakes failed to act upon attempting to stop the vehicle from moving forward. These events have been intermittent and have occurred on the following dates: 04 apr 2015 suv exhibited un-commanded acceleration while holding brake at stop light 05 apr 2015 suv exhibited un-commanded acceleration while holding brake at stop light 08 apr 2015 suv exhibited un-commanded acceleration while holding brake at stop light 12 apr 2015 suv exhibited un-commanded acceleration while braking to a stop 13 apr 2015 suv brought to north town nissan, mechanics unable to replicate event while nissan mechanics have assured me that the events were coincidental, upon further investigation, i have learned that a customer experienced a similar event february 7, 2009, and has since filed a complaint with the national highway transportation safety board. I would greatly appreciate if you could further investigate this matter and contact me at your earliest convenience. I have been fortunate to have avoided several close accidents during which case my family was on board the vehicle. Myself, my family, or countless other lives may not be as fortunate if this matter is not promptly researched and resolved.

Nissan new about this problem for years and done nothing about it. Their defective radiator is leaking into the transmission and causing my transmission to fail, and they have the balls to ask me to pay for it. My pathfinder broke down due to the transmission failing while driving. I was just pulling into my housing development and had to kill and restart the truck to get it to make it into the driveway. Apparently this is a known issue by nissan, where there's a crack that allows the radiator coolant and transmission fluid to mix, causing the transmission to fail. This is extremely wrong that a consumer must pay out of pocket for a known and acknowledged flaw in the manufacturer's design.

NoNoN NoneNone20150301

Gas gauge displays incorrectly and has a related check engine light. The gauge sometimes seems to work and then precipitously drops to empty even though tank is nearly full. This additionally seems to cause a check engine light to display, and when checked, shows a P0463 code (fuel level sensor circuit high input). The car is nearly undrivable due to fear of running out of fuel or worse such as a fuel leak or electrical short. The "distance to empty" display on the dash also no longer works as a backup. *tr

We purchased the vehicle 31 days ago under the assumption there were no major problems as it came from a small dealer lot. Two weeks after driving it, we noticed it has shifting problems between 3rd and 4th and at 40mph it vibrates. We took the vehicle to nissan and had a diagnostics run on it which revealed the radiator coolant is leaking into the transmission, therefore causing the transmission to go bad. We contacted our warranty company, as we have a 90 day powertrain warranty and it is not covered at all. We contacted the dealer lot we purchased it from and so far, nothing is being done. I have done quite a bit of research on this issue and noticed several people have filed complaints about the same exact issue with these vehicles. My 2007 pathfinder has been shifting rough and sounds like i am driving across "rumble strips" used on the road to keep drivers awake. I went to the dealer to get an oil change and explained the issue. After they checked the car out they told me i had power steering fluid in my radiator and coolant in my power steering assembly. When i asked how that could possibly happen, the tech tried to assure me that this is what happens when radiator lines fail. I told them i had never heard of that and wanted to know how this could happen. They told me it would cost $5,250.00 to replace the radiator. The service tech and service manager acted like they knew nothing and suggested i call nissan north america...I did. They told me that since i had reported my issue to the better business bureau my case was sent to the arbitration department. The arbitration guy called and told me my vehicle was out of warranty and there was nothing they could do. I did some research online and found that nissan has known of this problem since 2005. Nissan lost a class action suit for this problem but the remedy was to extend the warranty for 100,000 miles. I'm confused because i do not understand how a manufacturer can warranty away a defect. From my research the average mileage for this problem is 112,000 miles. My car is slowly becoming non drivable. I accelerated out of a parking lot but the car moved out into traffic and started rumbling but would not accelerate any further. I almost got hit by another car. Why is the consumer responsible for a known defect? Isn't a warranty for parts that are manufactured correctly? *tr

I noticed my 2007 pathfinder's heater would only work when the car was moving but, figured it was something insignificant and would get it fixed soon. I then started to notice my transmission slipping and stalling out around 40 mph. I decided i better get it into the shop before i was stranded somewhere. Before taking my car into the shop, i figured i'd check the internet and make sure there weren't any recalls on the heating system. I typed in "2007 nissan pathfinder" on google and it auto-filled "transmission problems" - not a good sign. Apparently, nissan was aware of the faulty radiators in these vehicles which leak antifreeze in to the transmission and destroy the drive train, yet did nothing about it.. Post after post described the exact same issues i was having with my car - people were describing how their cars were getting stuck in high or low gears going down the highway and it scared me to death! I immediately called two local nissan dealerships and gave them my vin and mileage. I was informed, due to some worthless settlement with nissan, my portion of the cost would be $3,000. Here is what most infuriates me about this situation: 1. Nissan was obviously aware of this issue many years ago so why didn't they recall the radiator and save us this trouble and expense? Does someone have to die before something is done? I'm sure it's only a matter of time with vehicles getting stuck in high gear or stalling out on the interstate! 2. Who did this class action suit help exactly? Sounds like nissan definitely got the bigger end of the stick. When it all boils down, i'm guessing they are out very little, if any, money at all. 3. What happened to customer service? This isn't just bad service - it's bad business. It's absurd that car companies are allowed to sell faulty vehicles without repercussion. *tr

Loud and jerky shifting and smelling foul in the air conditioner. Nissan dealership said that there was an issue and since i was out of warranty, (100,000 miles) that they weren't liable. He said i could drive it because it shouldn't break down for another few thousand miles. So i just parked it. I would only drive it if i absolutely had no other choice. Friday, may 15 2015 i was coming home from a doctors appointment and the vehicle completely broke down. The transmission went out and i was in the middle of a busy road with my 4 year old in the car with me. At 40 mph, the rpm was at almost 5,000. I pulled over to call my husband and when we put it in reverse to back out of the parking space, it wouldn't go into reverse. I had to tow it home and it's completely broken down. Radiator transmission coolant leak. Radiator fluid leaked into the transmission and transmission fluid leak into the radiator due to a faulty radiator coolant line. Transmission is now slipping at third gear. Nissan dealer quote to replace both radiator and transmission $6,600 change. *tr

I noticed my vehicles transmission slipping when i was driving it around 3rd to 4th gear. Further review found that my vehicles radiator coolant is leaking into my transmission. The radiator fluid is leaking into transmission and transmission fluid is leaking and mixing in my radiator. *tr

Beginning in november 2014, the heater would not blow out warm or hot air if the car was not traveling on the interstate. At speeds below 50mpg, only cool or cold air would blow out of the heater vents and at an idle, only cold air would be emitted. The radiator was flushed three times in an effort to remedy this problem. Our mechanic thought there could be a blockage in the line due to the age of the vehicle. Once flushed, the heat would work for about 45 days. There were months of my driving to work without any real heat in the winter of 2014. After fluid changes and radiator flushes, the 2007 nissan pathfinder now has 111,000 miles on it. The air conditioning is working this summer, but towards the end of may 2015, the transmission started "jumping". This usually occurs around 40-45 mph. The engine will rev at a high rpm while traveling down an incline or a hill. The transmission feels as though it is "going out" and upon reading reviews on your site, this seems to be a common problem with this make and model of vehicle. There are times when you can hear the transmission "clunk" into gear when starting or stopping the engine.

Vehicle starts shuddering and jerking at 45 miles per hour.... Heater only blows hot air when car is moving, blows cold air when idling. *tr

I currently have a 2007 nissan pathfinder and at the end of october it started acting like it was going to stall a few times, then after a few times of that my check engine light came on so i took it to get evaluated and it comes up that it has a faulty fuel level sensor. I haven't gotten it fixed as of yet because i am a single mother of 4 and the cost isn't cheap. I have had no real issues with my truck other than this and after researching today i am seeing more and more complaints of the same thing but i don't see where there is a real recall for this. But it should be covered with all of the complaints that are in about this. I don't wish to be stranded somewhere with my children in this cold weather. For such an expensive vehicle you'd think something as such would be covered with so many going bad so needless to say i am not happy at the moment. *tr

Transmission of my nissan pathfinder 2007 failed. The radiator spilled the cooling liquid into the transmission, which then proceeded to cause irrepairable damage to the transmission. Transmission replaced with a rebuilt transmission

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 nissan pathfinder. The contact stated that the service engine sensor illuminated and the fuel gauge was not reading the fuel levels properly. The vehicle was repaired by an authorized dealer who replaced the fuel sending unit. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 43,000.

I have a 2007 nissan pathfinder. I was driving it to work and all of a sudden i just felt my car`s engine is having a heart attack, - a myocardial infraction. Then it started choking minute by minute. By then i knew my silver 2007 pathfinder is turning blue. Gotta call the code blue team. I am a nurse so this is the only way i can explain what i think what's going on rather than mechanically. The car is 7 years old, always used premium gas, use synthetic oil on it, always took the car to the dealership for diagnostic check up and maintenance, only 63,000 less mileage, i'm the sole driver. Got it towed to the dealership, got diagnosed by mechanic and told me that the timing chain system is screwed, and eventually damaged the pistons, then there was some leakage....They asked me $4,100 for the repair. This expensive repair cost is very unexpected and not my priority right now cause i have other more important to spent it with. And reading "nissan north america named in class action lawsuit alleging failure to disclose defect in timing chain systems which results in premature failure". Nissan never issued a recall and now the consumers has to pay costly repairs. I paid $4,480 something. *tr

I have a 2007 nissan pathfinder that started making loud rumbling noises while driving. We replaced the radiator after the car over heated and a milky substance leaked. We've had the transmission flushed twice. We were told by a mechanic that the radiator liquid mixed into the transmission. I'm very disappointing to find that there are so many others with the same issue and that nissan is doing nothing to help.

My 2007 nissan pathfinder started to feel heavy as i was driving @ 35mph..Like if it was dragging somethinng...I step on the gas and took a minute to get back to speed...Stopped at a red light...And tried to go again. And it suddenly just gave on me....Tried to start it up again and there was no crank no start ..It left me in the middle of the street. *tr

The front windows of the vehicle go down after you close the door with the beeper/ alarm. That happen several seconds after you close or open the car suddenly without any contact with the vehicle. It is very preoccupant because that happen some time without you notice it so if you are at a public parking your car is widely open. *tr

Have experiences shudder while driving over last few months. On date of incident, i pulled over after one such shudder, then continued and had no torque but was able to proceed, as if lower gears were no longer working. This issue continued while accelerating after every stop light and sign. Got home (with sick child) and shut down vehicle. Tried to start 30 minutes later and would not restart. Towed to mechanic. *tr

I was driving to work traveling on the highway going approximately 65 mph when the truck started to over heat and the transmission started to slip out of over drive. I pulled off the highway and stopped at an auto parts store. I pulled the transmission dip stick. It was milky. I also found the coolant overflow was bubbling out a mix of milky fluids. I had the car towed to a local garage and they explained the issue. The radiator had failed and blew apart inside, which created an issue with the transmission line inside the radiator. The coolant mixed with the transmission fluid. The garage replaced the radiator and flushed the transmission fluid. This cost me $650. The transmission wasn't right from this point on. A few months later the same thing happened. I have replaced the radiator this time myself and took it to the garage to have the transmission flushed. At this point the transmission slips into every gear and will continuously slip if its in overdrive. The car is un drivable and has been sitting in my driveway for almost a year now. Transmissions for this car are over $2500 and i just cant afford to put one into it

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 nissan pathfinder. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start after several attempts. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that the radiator had an internal crack that leaked fluid into the transmission, causing damage to the components. As a result, the transmission and the radiator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 124,000.

First the fuel sensor went out. Once i got that fixed (640.00) the fuel tank wouldn't fill up and the gauges were off. Then fluid leaked into the radiator and i had to replace the radiator (1,000.00). Then i had to flush it twice. Then the car overheated because the thermostat was gone. $250.00. Now the car won't start and i'm being told it's the ignition gone bad. All of this has happen over three months. I will never buy another nissan again. This was my third nissan and last!!!!!!! Where are the recalls if the same problems are occurring. *tr

The transmission began to slip and the radiator fluid overflow cannister started to expel a purple liquid. Car was found to have a cracked transmission cooling tube in the base of the radiator and the antifreeze had mixed with the transmission fluid. Found out on line that this is a very common problem that nissan refuses to acknowledge as a defect. Radiator replaced and cooling system flushed along with the required transmission flushing and fluid replacement. Repairs became very expensive. Only hope transmission doesn't fail next. *tr

Discovered a small pool of purple liquid under front left tire of my 2007 nissan pathfinder in the garage yesterday. Thought that must not be good, so i started doing some research online. Behold, discovered it was most likely a radiator leak and most likely leaked into transmission as well. Took the vehicle in today, and my concerns were confirmed. Radiator replacement = $800. Transmission is working normally right now, but from what i can tell the damage may already be done and its only a matter of time before catastrophic transmission failure +$4000. The issue i have with this whole situation is nissan is very aware of this defect, yet did not issue a recall. All they did was extend radiator/transmission warranty. This warranty does not apply to my vehicle being over 100k miles. All nissan had to do was issue a recall, fix the defective radiator (probably a $500 fix for them) instead, they ignored it, and the customer is stuck with a $5000 fix they did not even see coming due to them not notifying us about it. I am not pleased. *tr

Transmission on the pathfinder was very rough shifting from 3rd to 4th gear. We returned it to a dealer, who said it needed a new transmission. It seems that this has been a very common problem, and it seemed the company should have done more to remedy the problem than just hoping the newest extended warranties ran out before the cars needed repairs. *tr
