Safety Recall R47 / NHTSA 15V-534 (STOP SALE) – Side Airbag
Inflatable Curtain (SABIC)
FCA US LLC announced a safety recall on certain 2014 and 2015 model year (DS)
RAM Quad Cab Trucks.
Some of the above vehicles may not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard
(FMVSS) #226 – Ejection Mitigation.
The Side Airbag Inflatable Curtains (SABIC) may not deploy as intended. An improperly
deployed SABIC, during certain crash events, could allow additional injuries to rear seat
occupants.
FCA will conduct a voluntary safety recall on all involved vehicles. A repair for this
condition has not been fully determined at this time.
Dealers will be notified of the launch of this safety recall by way of established methods
used in the past.
Important: All involved in-stock vehicles are under a “STOP SALE ORDER” and
cannot be sold. Civil penalties could be imposed for delivering a non-compliant
vehicle.
We ask that you please take the time to ensure that your personnel are aware of this
communication and are prepared to execute a customer friendly process for inquiries on
involved vehicles.
