SUBJECT: wiTECH Small Leak Verification Test (SLVT) - P0456-EVAP SYSTEM SMALL LEAK MODELS: 2015 - 2020 (ALL) (FCA Group Gas Vehicles) NOTE: This bulletin applies to all 2015 - 2020 FCA US LLC vehicles with the available wiTECH SLVT. DISCUSSION: In order to verify small leaks are present or to determine the repair correction for the small leak condition, wiTECH has made available a SLVT. It is mandatory to run the wiTECH SLVT while performing the P0456 diagnostics. For further explanation on the wiTECH SLVT, please reference the below materials: • Refer to Warranty Bulletin D-19-23 for details associated with the warranty claim processing. • Refer to Warranty Newsletter Volume 5, Issue 10. • For additional help with understanding this diagnostic procedure, please reference the Master Tech training course – MTCE1901 – “Master Tech Continuing Education Edition 1 – EVAP System Overview and Diagnosis”. The wiTECH SLVT MUST be run first to verify a leak is present and run after repairing or replacing any components to verify the fix. • A road test will not confirm the repair, as P0456 is only set with multiple engine off and drive cycles, which cannot be reproduced during a dealer visit. • wiTECH SLVT is the only tool currently available to confirm a fix after the repair to assure the vehicle was “Fixed First Visit (FFV)”. 18-089-19 -2- When diagnosing the P0456, follow the service diagnostic procedure outlined in Service Library. The diagnostic will also help explain how to interpret the wiTECH SLVT result and determine the best repair solution (Fig. 1) or (Fig. 2) .
