  • Recall 250366 [USA]: A loss of steering control increases the risk of a crash.
    Honda (american honda motor co.) is recalling certain 2023 passport and ridgeline vehicles. The inner ball joint housing in the steering gearbox assembly may loosen and detach from the steering rack and result in a loss of steering control.
    dealers will inspect and replace the steering gearbox as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed april 11, 2024. Owners may contact honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is lhy.

  • Recall 235302 [USA]: Brake master cylinder separation can cause a loss of brake function and increase the risk of a crash.
    Honda (american honda motor co.) is recalling certain 2020-2021 civic, 2020-2023 ridgeline, 2021-2023 passport, 2021-2022 pilot, and 2020 acura mdx vehicles. The tie rod fastener that connects the brake booster and the brake master cylinder may have been improperly assembled during manufacturing, which can cause the brake master cylinder to separate from the booster assembly.
    dealers will inspect and repair the brake booster assembly as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed august 7, 2023. Owners may contact honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are veu, aev, and zet.

Known Recall Investigations

  • Rear-view camera failure investigation as of 20240213

    The office of defects investigation (odi) has received 27 complaints and a number of early warning reporting (ewr) field reports alleging failure of the rear-view camera (rvc) in 2020-2023 model year honda ridgeline vehicles. The complainants report when the rvc fails it shows a black screen when in reverse rather than the camera view. Many report damage to the tailgate wire harness that appears to be caused by normal usage of the vehicle when opening and closing the tailgate. The damage to the wire harness severs the connection to the rvc causing it to fail to function as designed. Failure or malfunction of the rvc results in reduced visibility of the area behind the vehicle. This limited view may lead to an increased risk of a crash resulting in injury and/or property damage. Odi is opening this preliminary evaluation (pe) to determine the scope and severity of the potential problem and to fully assess the potential safety-related issues.
