• Recall 138980 [USA]: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.
  Toyota motor engineering & manufacturing (toyota) is recalling certain 2007-2011 lexus gs350 and gs450h, 2006-2013 lexus is350 and 2010-2014 lexus is350c vehicles, equipped with 3.5l v6 2gr-fse gasoline engines. The diaphragms in the fuel pulsation dampers may harden over time and develop cracks, possibly causing a fuel leak.
  toyota will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel delivery pipe with a new pipe that has improved pulsation dampers, free of charge. The recall began august 23, 2018. Owners may contact lexus customer service at 1-800-255-3987. Toyota's number for this recall is jlf.

  Toyota motor engineering & manufacturing (toyota) is recalling certain model year 2007-2010 lexus ls vehicles manufactured may 9, 2006, to july 20, 2010, 2006-2011 lexus gs vehicles manufactured january 6, 2005, to september 10, 2010, and 2006-2011 lexus is vehicles manufactured august 30, 2005, to september 10, 2010. Due to anti-corrosion plating remnants, fuel may leak from where the fuel pressure sensor is attached to the fuel delivery pipe.

• Recall 98547 [USA]: The loose bolts could cause the vvt gear housing and sprocket to separate and result in the engine stopping while the vehicle is being driven, increasing the risk of a crash.
  Toyota is recalling certain model year 2007-2011 lexus gs350 vehicles manufactured june 19, 2006, through july 12, 2011; and model year 2006-2011 lexus is350 vehicles manufactured may 27, 2005, through july 13, 2011; and model year 2010-2011 lexus is350c vehicles manufactured november 25, 2009, through july 19, 2011. These vehicles, equipped with the 2gr-fse engine, use bolts to secure the housing and sprocket of the variable-valve timing (vvt) system gear assembly. These bolts could become loose due to abnormal impacts generated within the gear assembly immediately after a cold start-up.

• Recall 2014458 [Canada]: Fuel supply
  On certain vehicles, the fuel delivery pipes in the engine compartment may have been produced with particles from the anti-corrosion plating on the gasket seating surface where the fuel pressure sensor is installed. This could affect the sealing properties of the gasket seated between the pressure sensor and the pipe, potentially resulting in a fuel leak. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source could result in a fire causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: dealers will replace the gasket and repair the gasket seating surface.

• Recall 2013297 [Canada]: Engine
  On certain vehicles, the bolts used to secure the housing and sprocket of the intake-side variable-valve timing (vvt) gear assembly could loosen. If this occurs, the vvt gear will not control the intake valves correctly. In some instances, the vvt gear housing and sprocket could separate, causing the engine to stall. Engine stalling would result in a loss of vehicle propulsion which, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver’s reactions, could increase the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: dealers will replace the vvt unit with an improved version.

Recalls

While i was driving my lexus the drivers side curtain airbag deployed without any type of accident or incident. I also have dash camera video at the exact moment the airbags deployed. This was beyond frightening to have them deploy without an accident. I contacted lexus and they do not seem that concerned. There is some serious safety defect for this to have happened without a crash. I can't imagine if the vehicle was making a turn because we would not have been able to see. I would never want this to happen to anyone else. Now i have to pay around 5,000. To fix something that i did not cause and seems like a very serious safety defect. The dealer seriously told me my vehicle was out warranty. I contacted scott murphy@toyota corporation and he can't conceptualize that it was not in a collision. After speaking with them i wonder if this has happened to others and they just said ' it is out of warranty'?? Thank you and i hope no one ever has to experience there airbags deploying without an accident or dealing with lexus. Thank you.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 lexus gs350. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 18v432000 (fuel system, gasoline); however, the parts were not available. The dealer, dolan lexus (7175 s virginia st, reno, nv 89511, 775-826-5050) was contacted and confirmed that parts are not available. The contact had not experienced a failure. The manufacturer was not notified. Parts distribution disconnect.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 lexus gs 350. While driving approximately 50 mph in the rain, the windshield wipers failed to function. The contact coasted the vehicle to the side of the road. The contact called aaa and they came out and tightened the wiper arm nuts and bolts. The vehicle was later taken to germaine lexus of easton where it was diagnosed that the wiper arm nuts and bolts were stripped and needed to be replaced. The wiper nuts and bolts were temporarily repaired. The vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 13v030000 (visibility/wiper). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in the recall. The approximate failure mileage was 61,100. *tt *tr

The replacement of my defective airbag is taking far too long. Lexus offered to give us an economy size rental car but, that is not large enough for my family so i have continued to drive my unsafe car. Lexus has not given us any indication as to when the replacement will be made. We just pray we are not in an accident of any kind.

Takata airbag recall-- lexus has not offered a fix for the recall of the front passenger airbag recall. Our es 350 has been rendered unusable since we cannot carry any passengers in the front seat. Lexus has not offered to disable the front airbag so that seat can be used until the recall is completed. We need another vehicle in the interim and have not been offered one by lexus or need the front airbag disabled.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 lexus gs 350. While the vehicle was parked, the headrest air bag deployed without warning or impact. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the headrest needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 90,000. The vin was not provided.

When the brakes are applied while in drive the rpms randomly increase from 500 to 1000 and the car inches up unless i apply more pressure on the brakes. This is usually noticeable while i am in the drive-thru at fast food restaurants while waiting in line. While waiting for 5 or so minutes it usually occurs 2-3 times. I rarely notice it happen at traffic lights as they usually don't last that long. It happens at least a few times a week.

I was pulling into a parking space, driving very very slowly, about 1 or 2 mph, and my vehicle experienced unintended acceleration, bolting forward very abruptly. I was able to stop the car by applying extreme pressure on the brake for a few seconds. The dealership reviewed the car and said there was nothing wrong. They suggest that i might have stepped on the brake and accelerator at the same time, which they did to replicate the experience. However, now that i have had opportunity to consider that, i don't think i could have effectively pressed both simultaneously to achieve that abrupt acceleration. If that were possible, and it happens mostly in lexus and toyota, is it a design flaw which might enable that? *tr
