Back to top Tech Tips 19-12-01 Radiator Identification Sensor -G611- Date: January 27, 2012 June 19, 2015: Update to model year applicability. Model(s) Year EOS, Jetta, GTI, Passat, 2009–2015 Tiguan Eng.Code Trans.Code 2.0L TSI (CCTA, CBFA) All On TSI (2.0l CCTA, CBFA) equipped vehicles with fault code P2568 Direct Ozone Reduction Catalyst Temperature Sensor, this fault refers to - G611- as Radiator Identification Sensor. If the radiator requires replacement on any above listed vehicle, the -G611- will be packaged separately within the radiator packaging. The new sensor will need to be bonded to the radiator. Use AMV 195 KD101 adhesive (refer to ETKA for latest part number) to bond the sensor. 19-13-02 Coolant Leak or Repeat Coolant Leak from the Water Pump Area Date: October 25, 2013 June 19, 2015: Update to Model Year Applicability. Model(s) Year Eng.Code Trans.Code Tiguan, Golf, Jetta, Passat, CC 2008–2015 All All All New Beetle 2011–2015 All All Eos 2010–2015 2.0L CCTA/CBFA All Inspect the water pump for signs of contact with engine oil. Engine oil may cause the water pump gasket to swell, which may lead to a coolant leak. If water pump replacement is necessary, ensure that any engine oil is thoroughly cleaned off, prior to water pump installation. Please note that when replacing the water pump or opening the cooling system, there is a special bleed procedure that has to be performed. Vacuum bleed the cooling system for 10 minutes. Start the engine and let idle until the thermostat opens and the cooling fan runs, before driving vehicle or raising engine RPM. 21-15-01 DTC P023A Charge Air Coolant Pump Control Circuit/Open - Date: June 19, 2015 Model(s) Year Eng.Code Trans.Code Passat 2012–2013 All All Vehicles exhibiting concerns of DTC P023A (Charge Air Coolant Pump Control Circuit/Open): Check for a possible loose or damaged ground wire at connector T4ap/1. The connector is located on the cover for the mechatronics unit. Campaigns 28H1 - Ignition Switch (WIN Module) Model(s) Year Eng. Code Trans. Code Routan 2009– 2010 All All VIN Range From VIN Range To See Campaign/Action See Campaign/Action screen in Elsa screen in Elsa Some vehicles may experience inadvertent ignition key displacement from the run to accessory position while driving, causing the engine and passive restraint systems including the airbags - to shut off, increasing the risk of a crash and personal injury to vehicle occupants. If the ignition key inadvertently moves as described above, the engine will turn off, which will then depower various key safety systems including - but not limited to air bags, power steering, and power braking. Loss of functionality of these systems may increase the risk of crash and/or increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash. Until repair is completed, owners are advised to remove all objects from the key fob (such as additional keys, key chains, etc.). This may help lessen the likelihood that the vehicle will experience the problem described in this recall. Additionally, the driver should ensure that the key is securely and correctly positioned in the RUN position before driving the vehicle. Updates No new updates this week.
