2017 HONDA CR-V with 17000.0 miles

I purchased this Cr-v new from the Honda dealership in sarassota, fl in feb 2017. O/s srs light keeps coming on. It is an intermittent problem. When it comes on, it stays on until the car is turned off. This has been going on for at least 3 months. I had started taking pictures of the actual meter panel speedometer with the o/s srs light on every day to show the frequency and magnitude of this issue. On 11/11/17, stored codes were deleted a few times at bradenton, fl dealership with no success. "system operating as designed" is what i was told by Honda dealership. On 11/13 - 11/21/17, o/s srs light came on after codes cleared. Returned to Honda dealership in bradenton, fl. They checked pin fit at air bag connector and srs unit. Continuity was confirmed. No mouse or water damage. Driver's seat air bag was replaced per Honda tech line. The dealership was in possession of our Cr-v during these dates. On 12/13/17, o/s srs light keeps coming on. The bradenton, fl dealership. Scanned for srs codes (same as before, 'B0020-13"), open or increased resistance on the left side. Reviewed data withe tech line and they had dealership replace the srs control unit. Initialized seat weight sensor to verify repair was completed. Tech drove vehicle 85 miles to confirm repair was completed. Tech line ref#4044223 on 12/14/17 the o/s srs light came on still. Due to our vacation from sarasota, fl to ohio for christmas, the bradenton Honda dealership could not provide a loaner for any out of state driving. So, we drove this crv to ohio with the o/s srs light on for 95% of our 2600 mile trip. Negotiated with am Honda and bradenton, fl dealership to bring Cr-v back on 1/8/18. A Honda 'technician specialist' is being flown in from torrence, ca to fix it. My wife and i retired from Honda of america mfg inc with 50 combined years of manufacturing service building Hondas.

2016 NISSAN ROGUE

I took my car to the dealership because my air bag light was on. The active code from the dealership is B0020 and my personal scan tool code is B0020-13. The dealership said i will need to replace the air bag diagnostic unit for $1,100 and if that does not work my driver side air module for $3,000. My warranty does not over any of the repairs. I have never been in an accident or needed any body work.

2015 CHRYSLER 200 with 51000.0 miles

About dec. 20, 2019 i was surprised to find the air bag warning light on the dash of my 2015 Chrysler 200 when i started it. I went to a mechanic to fix it; but he didn't do that kind of work and recommended another mechanic in a nearby town. I was able to get an appointment yesterday (feb. 17, 2020). The trouble-code was: B0020-13. He called to get the required parts, and was quoted $1,074.00 plus 7% tax and labor of $100.00. He looked on computer and found that both sides of the seat-sensor-harness should be calibrated together. In other words, the price doubles to $2.500.00 for both seat-sensor-harnasses! It is a "safety issue" that needs to be addressed in a car that is only 5 years and 8 months old (the date of manufacture is april 2015). We looked-up the problem online and found recall # 16v114000 which states that if one seat harness needs to be replaced, then, both must be replaced and calibrated as a single unit, thereby doubling the cost! I called Chrysler at 1-800-853-1403 with my vin number and she said that my vin number is not included (actually, the recall only applies to only 78 vehicles). But after telling her that it was a "safety issue" that i couldn't afford to pay for, she gave me a "goodwill assistance case number". I was told that they "might" help; and to call my Chrysler dealer and give that number to them. I did so and they said they will call me 'soon'. I don't know what to expect.. They don't like to tell you much; but i'm hoping to have it fixed quickly, in the event of a crash that might disable, or kill, me! Thank you!

2015 CHRYSLER 200 with 97776.0 miles

We are a repair shop reporting this issue.The referenced vehicle arrived with a complaint of the airbag light on.Tech found trouble code B0020-13(left side seat deployment squib 1- circuit open)stored in airbag module.Tech also found a tsb (see photos)requiring replacement of both front seat complete airbag wiring harnesses with an updated version.The existing condition can cause the side curtain airbags to not deploy in event of a crash.Chrysler has not issued a recall or offered any warranty extension on this known problem that effects 201- 2017 jeep cherokees and 2015- 2017 Chrysler 200s.It is our feeling that this known condition presents a serious safety concern to owners of the affected vehicles, and is an extremely costly repair for a safety concern that should not fall on the shoulder of the consumer.

2015 DODGE DURANGO with 113407. miles

The check air bag is on. Upon taking the vehicle to Dodge. The service department stated the cause is seat harness failure. Dodge checked the codes and stated they found B0020-13 and B1C11-13. Dodge stated this not a recall issue. They ordered part number 68100768ad wiring : seat back and part number 5pn14dx9aa headrest: active head restr. Although with all of the air bags concerns and Dodge's problems with them and recalls. This repair will cost up to 900.00. And will have the vehicle in the shop for potentially 3 days. Day one finding the issue and then potentially 1-2 days after the parts are ordered and come in. The last statement Dodge made was " need to replace headrest seat harness and retest for any further needs."

2014 NISSAN ALTIMA

Airbag light came on and the error code was B0020, which is the drivers side, they reset at the dealer. It came back on a week later and i took it back. They told me they checked the wires and it all looked fine. They don't know if the airbag will deploy if in an accident so i need to replace it and it will cost $1000. They also sold me the car in april and in may the light came on. Very annoyed by this.

2014 NISSAN ALTIMA with 64534.0 miles

My air bag light stays on in my dash. Went to my local dealer to find out an old code B0020-13 was detected. They found everything to be fine, so they reset the code. The air bag light came back on two days later, and the same code came on again. They recommended a replacement of the side air bag module under the driver seat to repair the concern. They want to charge me $1600 for parts and labor, and what's worse, the sop part is on back order with no eta. So i asked the dealer what i am supposed to do, and if the car is safe to drive? He suggested that i shouldn't drive the car, but the part is not readily available any where in the united states? What kind of garbage is that? They offered me no solution to my problem, and i don't have another car to drive, and they can't even tell me when the part will become available???? Does this mean that this problem is a problem all across the country, because why don't they have the part available? This is a safety issue!!!! If i were to get in a accident, then the side air bag would not deploy!!

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. While driving, the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The contact was concerned that the air bag might deploy. The vehicle was taken to jaguar Land Rover of thousand oaks (located at 3601 automall dr, thousand oaks, ca 91362, (805) 267-3600) where it was diagnosed that the front driver air bag deployment failed with code B0020-13, and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was repaired per nhtsa campaign number: 15v093000 (air bags), but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 47,959.

2012 DODGE CHARGER with 2310.0 miles

My Charger has 2,317 miles. During driving the air bag light turn on with a chime. The light continue on. I turn the car off and turned on again and the light continue. I stop using the car since i heard that the air bag when this occurred shut down and don't work and if i have any accident, i am not protected by the air bag. On june 5, 2012, i visited the dealer for repaired. After 3 days in the dealer, they called me that the car is ready. On june 8,2012 ,i went to the dealer. In the dealer, the representative told me that the computer showed a code B0020-13. The technician proceed to realize a circuit test based on diagnostic table and they found a wire from the front driver seat air bag that need to be repaired. Based on the technician, one of the pin of the wire was out of position. The technician repaired to correct the code. After one day working good without the air bag light on, a chime sound and appeared again the air bag symbol. I check in various forum related to this car and in all of the forum they have the same problem and the dealer do the same procedure and the result is the same after repaired the light coming again. I think that Dodge has to recall this situation since we are not protected in case of a car accident.

Dealer found and repaired the following, cpa connector to not be properly installed - r&r connector and installed properly, cpa connector under seat to be out of place - r&r connector and properly installed, found loose cpa connector on pass side seat belt pretensioner - r&r connector and add dielectric, reinstall connector and cpa properly, found program update for related complaint, performed program update on sdm and reset. When speaking to service manager, he said that there maybe a corrosion issue with the connectors within the air bag wiring system.

2007 CHEVROLET COBALT with 70000.0 miles

The airbag warning light comes on randomly. While lit the airbags will not function. It has been looked at by a Chevrolet dealer at least twice (12/2010 and 2/2011). Both of those times the error code was B0020. It has been taken to a certified mechanic on 8/2015 and codes B1370, B0081, and B0020 showed. The problem was always fixed, temporarily, by applying connector grease to the wire connections. On 9/2017, the mechanic replaced the passenger seatbelt retractor. This also fixed the problem temporarily. By paying close attention to when the warning light comes on we have determined that the sensor is affected by the interior temperature of the car. When the temperature is above approximately 65f the airbag warning light comes on and renders the safety of the airbags useless! I have yet to find any permanent fix for the issue. However there are numerous complaints by others online. It seems unacceptable to me that a vital piece of safety equipment is malfunctioning yet the manufacturer/dealer will not take any steps to fix it.

2007 CHEVROLET CORVETTE with 37000.0 miles

Dash airbag service light periodically illuminated. This condition (to date), has not resulted in logging any diagnostic fault codes, i.E.; dtc(s) B0012, B0013, B0016, B0016, B0019, B0020, B0022, B0023, B0026, B0033, B0040, B0042 or B0044, this illuminated service light fault is only rectified when either; a) i manually re-positioning the driver's seat until the light turns off, or b) i physically re-positioning the yellow (side-airbag) connector located under driver's seat. Either method results in only a temporary resolve, before the problem occurs again. I assume this issue could also be true for the passenger seat too. By service notice / vin#, gm acknowledges a potential / real airbag issue in my vehicle, dated may 2016. Based on the referenced may 2016 gm service notice, and further substantiated via phone communication, gm requires that a specific diagnostic fault code be present before gm will cover any service coasts to resolve this issue. This, while knowing the existence of an impending safety issue, described in the may 2016 service notice, is uniquely independent of any requirement there must be a diagnostic fault code detected. Gm needs to accept ownership of this acknowledged well described issue. In this instances, gm shifts coast responsibility for this potential/real safety issue to the car owner. My research indicates that this issue is not unique to the Chevrolet c6 Corvette, but rather systemic throughout gm model types. Current dealer estimate charges to perform fault diagnostics only (no fault code present), is > $290.00, plus tbd addition repair coasts. What's wrong with this scenario?

2007 CHEVROLET AVALANCHE with 142000. miles

Service air bag showed up on my instrument cluster. The code reader shows code B0020-0d, passenger instrument panel air bag deployment loop stage 2 short to battery. The warning has been intermittent for years and then here recently the warning became a steady illumination. When this issue first started it didn't matter if i was moving or or stationary. Now the warning does not go off. I am not 100% positive if the takata recall is what is affecting my air bag but according to the recall it is the passenger side front air bag. Currently my vehicle falls under manufacturer recall number 2049151 and nhtsa recall number 16v381. The recall is currently incomplete, and a remedy is not yet available. I live in texas so as the the ambient temperature increased the air bag issue became worse.
