• Recall RM/2005/017 [UK]: Abs function may fail
  There is a possibility of the abs sensor cable sagging into a loop in the vicinity of the front brake left caliper following disassembly work i.E. A tyre change. This can result in the sensor cable chafing against the brake disc with the result that the abs function can fail.
  recalled machines will be fitted with an additional sensor cable retaining clip.

  Possibility of fuel leakage from the fuel pipe quick release mechanism or clips.
  recalled machines will be checked for fuel leaks and the o sealing rings replaced. Should the body of the quick release coupling be leaking fuel this also will be replaced.

  In certain exceptional circumstances (constant use of the abs) it is possible for the abs to stop functioning. This is as a result of excessive pressure building up in the abs system.

• Recall RM/2007/038 [UK]: Reduction of front brake efficiency
  Vibration on a long ride at a constantly high engine speed can under certain circumstances causing foaming of the brake fluid in the reservoir of the front brakes. The possibility therefore of this foaming causing air to enter into the braking system cannot be excluded. Should air enter the system the efficiency of the front brakes can diminish severely dependant upon the volume of air which has entered the system.

  Foaming of the brake fluid may occur in the brake fluid reservoir of the front brake. It is therefore possible that air can then enter the front braking system and adversely affect the performance of the front brake.

• Fuel line leakage investigation # PE03054

  Bmw is conducting a recall (04v-028).An information request(ir)response was not received. Upon bmws receipt of the ir, and after discussions with odi, bmwdetermined that a recall was necessary. On certain motorcycles, the o-ring contained within the fuel line quick-disconnect coupling could become damaged.Further, there is also a problem involving crimp-type hose clamps, which can also result in a small fuel leak.Dealers will inspect, and if necessary, adjust all crimp-type hose clamps.Also all fuel line quick-disconnect couplings will be inspected.If a leak is detected, the quick-disconnect o-ring will be replaced.If damaged, the coupling will be replaced.Owner notification is expected to begin during february 2004.
