2007 c4500 kodiak with dump body 1. Emergency brake failed to hold truck while in gear with motor running: 2. Factory installed electric (trailer brake ) controller failed, & turned on & off at random: 3. The trucks service brakes failed , while trying to stop the truck, (then the trucks brake warning lights & audible alarms came on, then the alarms failed to come on later that night,,, while the brake peddle went clear to the floor boards: 4. The gm (stop lamp switch) was replaced (code) ( dtc # C0164 ) with part number #(15128874) , (while the defective part was not returned to me for inspection) 5. While this (february 22nd, 2007 tech. Service bulletin) (((( #07-05-22-001: brake light switch inoperative, brake warning buzzer sounding and brake warning light on))) described problems with the 2006 kodiak c4500 there should have been a factory recall due to possible brake failures, due to wiring the service brakes to the electric trailer brakes in factory after market installations: 6. Since my service brakes failed, my brake warning alarms failed later that night, my emergency brake was mis adjusted, & by wiring the electronic trailer brakes to the service brake (stop lamp switch), which shorted out this connection,, by drawing too much current thru the stop lamp switch: did cause a situation of total brake failure, with no alarms: 7. This 2007 c4500 with electric brake controller should be recalled with a factory dealer inspection, concerning the defective service brake stop lamp switch, & how the electric trailer brake is wired to the brake pedal, according to the (2) or more gm brake service bulletins, before this truck was sold (new) to me: the defects in the brake warning system,.The service brakes, the electric trailer brakes, & emergency brake, have caused me to file a washington state lemon law claim: *tr

General motors specify the following for my vehicle: 2007i post-diesel emission warning on the post-emission diesel engine it is a requirement that the exhaust tip cooler supplied by gm is installed for every diesel equipped vehicle. If you do not install to exhaust tip cooler there is a high probability that you will start a fire in the immediate vicinity of the vehicle during regeneration (temperature in excess of 1,000 f). If not installed then the secondary manufacturer assumes all liability for an incident. This part is not optional. Your sales and service staff must be made aware of this requirement and your obligation to inform your customers. Removal of the gm exhaust tip with a more eye appealing exhaust will void the warranty on the vehicle and could lead to catastrophic failure. 2007i post-diesel emission warning four winds international, a division of thor industries, built my class c motorhome in april, 2007, and failed to meet these standards. I request a formal investigation as to the number of recreation vehicles lacking this critical safety device, which the lack thereof should be considered high risk exposure to both persons and property . Thank you, [xxx], aic information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.S.C. 552(b)(6). *tr

I own a 2007 kodiak pickup conversion with hydraulic brakes. After a heavy rain, i noticed water coming from the area of the brake actuator rod at the firewall. No failure has ensued, but i was unable to determine if this was a primary brake problem or a problem with the windshield seal. Eventually the corrosion or moisture in the passenger foot well will create a safety problem. *tr

I picked up a new c4500 kodiak pick up conversion from monroe truck equipments flint location. It was delivered with monroe's so-low suspension components and a pick-up bed. It had 0.7 miles at delivery. Immediately upon entering the highway, the vehicle had a moderate to severe front end vibration--evident at 46-50 mph and again-- with severe steering wheel vibration-- at the posted highway speed. It had moderate bump steer issues when encountering rough roads making it even harder to control at highway speeds. The vehicle will dart one direction or another going over bridge seams or when encountering bumps. The steering wheel was off-center too, complicating the issues. Having not driven an un-modified kodiak 4500, i cannot attest to the severity of the bump steer compared to the base vehicle. I called monroe and they claimed that the vehicle had a test-drive by their technicians before delivery and checked-out ok. They said that the steering wheel alignment was the most important factor in the test-drive. I informed them of the mileage and said that the truck traveled an unacceptable distance for a test drive. I also do not see signs of an alignment after the suspension conversion, as the steering wheel is not centered--off 25 degrees and the tie-rod bolts are untouched. This is a very heavy vehicle and the driveabilty is unacceptable and dangerous over rough roads. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet kodiak 4500. While driving approximately 55 mph, the front axle shakes and causes the passenger side tire to wear faster. The failure occurs intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not serviced. The current mileage was 18,000 and failure mileage was 1,000. Updated 4/25/08 *cn

My 2007 yukon has no dash instrument lights during daylight. The only gauge illumination is when the headlights are turned on. During daylight, the gauges are impossible to see with sunglasses. And almost impossible to see without sunglasses. This is very dangerous because you have to take your eyes off the road for a considerable time to view the gauges. I have taken to the dealer and gmc; they have no answers. *nm
