  Daimler trucks north america, llc (dtna) is recalling certain 2019-2021 freightliner 108sd, 114sd, 122sd, columbia, coronado, business class m2, and 2020 freightliner cascadia vehicles. The drag link taper joint may not have been tightened sufficiently and could come loose, resulting in a complete separation of the drag link from the steering arm.

• Recall 208932 [USA]: Unapproved tires that are not rated for the vehicle can cause tire performance issues, increasing the risk of a crash.
  Daimler trucks north america, llc (dtna) is recalling certain 2012-2021 freightliner sd 108, freightliner sd 114, 2016-2020 freightliner coronado, 2013 western star 6900, 2013-2022 western star 4700, western star 4900, and 2022 49x vehicles. The tires and rims are not approved and rated for these vehicles from the tire and rim association or tire manufacturer. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard number 120, "wheels and rims-other than passenger cars."

The engine harness wires may chafe at various locations around the air compressor and the frame rail. The damaged wires may short causing the engine to stall without any prior warning.

Vehicles with a damaged harness will receive a new harness that consists of a severe duty wrapping and additional hardware. All repairs will be performed free of charge. • Recall 2021271 [Canada]: Fuel supply
  Issue: on certain vehicles, the fuel rail assembly could develop a leak. Note: this recall only affects vehicles equipped with a cummins l9 or isx12 diesel engine. Safety risk: a fuel leak can create the risk of a fire. Corrective actions: cummins will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a cummins authorized service center to inspect the fuel rail. If damage is found, the fuel rail and fuel lines will be replaced. If no damage is found, the fuel rail will be reassembled with new crush washers using a special tool.

  Issue: on certain trucks equipped with an eaton automated manual transmission and electronic clutch actuator (eca), a component within the clutch assembly could fail. If this happens, the broken clutch components could prevent the transmission from disengaging or shifting to neutral. This could result in unintended vehicle movement, even if the parking brake is applied. Note: this recall replaces fl-803 (transport canada recall 2018-714). Trucks that were repaired under that recall also require this repair. Safety risk: sudden and unexpected movement of the vehicle could create a risk of injury or a crash.   Issue: on certain trucks equipped with electronic stability control (esc), the brake lights may turn on when the automatic traction control (atc) activates. Canadian regulations do not allow brake lights to turn on when the automatic traction control activates. Safety risk: brake lights that turn on when a vehicle is not slowing could confuse other drivers. Corrective actions: the company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their truck to a daimler trucks north america authorized service facility. The truck will either be reprogrammed or retrofitted so the brake lights do not turn on when the automatic traction control (atc) activates.

  On certain vehicles equipped with air disc brakes, the brake caliper mounting bolts may be incorrectly torqued. This could result in the caliper bolts loosening, which could lead to the caliper detaching. Insufficiently torqued fasteners may not provide adequate clamping force between the brake caliper and brake anchor plate potentially resulting in reduced brake effectiveness, which would result in increased stopping distances, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.
