• Recall 125053 [USA]: In the event of a crash, if objects are not secured within the center console, they may strike the vehicle occupants, increasing their risk of injury.
  Mercedes-benz usa, llc (mbusa) is recalling certain 2017 gle 400 4matic, gle 350 4matic, gle 350, gle 550e 4matic, gle 63 amg, gle 63s amg, gle 43 amg 4matic coupe, gle 63s amg 4matic coupe, gls 450 4matic, gls 550 4matic, and gls 63 amg 4matic vehicles. In certain types of crash events, the center console may unlatch, allowing the objects within to fly around the cabin. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) number 201, "occupant protection in interior impact."
  mbusa will notify owners, and dealers will modify the center console so that it remains latched in a crash, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in early march 2017. Owners may contact mbusa customer service at 1-800-367-6372.

As a result the transmission oil cooler lines could work loose while driving and transmission oil could leak out. Because of a deviation in the supplier?S production process it is possible that the connectors on transmission oil cooler lines from two specific batches were not pressed together in accordance with specifications. In this case the vehicle could possibly lose propulsion due to oil loss in the transmission. The escaping oil could get onto the roadway thus increasing the risk of an accident for following traffic. This could cause a loss of power steering assist. The resulting increase in steering effort could create the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: dealers will replace the mounting bolts and apply a corrosion protection coating to the gear housing and bolts. If the bolts bolt cannot be removed, a replacement steering gear will be installed.

  On certain vehicles equipped with the active curve system (acs), the oil in the acs’s reservoir could start foaming under certain dynamic driving situations in combination with an oil level below minimum. The oil foam could leak out of the oil reservoir through the vent holes in the sealing cap and spray onto hot surface components of the exhaust system. This could increase the risk of fire causing injury and/or damage to property. During a routine drive, the vehicle swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle. The vehicle driver assist functions over-corrected, causing vehicle to end up off road.

Rear hatch opens on its own intermittently while parked and locked; doors remain locked. This has happened in driveway as well as in shopping center parking lots. We have had to the dealer three times, but they can not replicate the problem. This has happened when keys are inside house on a table. Dealer could not find any fault codes; told us to try leather case over key fob. Dealer states there is nothing more that they can do.
