Description
Improved low mount air tank brackets are available.

Introduction
Peterbilt has introduced an improved mounting bracket for low mount air tanks for vehicles built between January
01, 2017 and July 06, 2020. Torsional vibration may stress the currently-installed brackets and cause them to fail
near the bottom of the frame rail.
Resolution
Fix-as-Fail
If a customer comes into your dealership and demonstrates the condition above, use the procedure below to replace the low
mount air tank brackets.
Warranty
Through Standard Warranty, Peterbilt will pay for parts at dealer net plus applicable mark-up and labor:

0.8 hours labor to remove and replace both air tank brackets on low mount air tank. File a long form claim and
reference 13-055.

Procedure
If the condition stated above has been determined to be present:
Review
1.
WebECAT for the correct bracket part variation for the vehicle being repaired.
Remove
2.
and replace both air tank brackets and reattach to the frame. Torque the frame bolts to 115lb-ft.
Use
3. the U-bolt listed above. Torque the U-bolts to 15lb-ft.
