• Recall 106844 [USA]: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.
  Toyota motor engineering & manufacturing (toyota) is recalling certain model year 2007-2010 lexus ls vehicles manufactured may 9, 2006, to july 20, 2010, 2006-2011 lexus gs vehicles manufactured january 6, 2005, to september 10, 2010, and 2006-2011 lexus is vehicles manufactured august 30, 2005, to september 10, 2010. Due to anti-corrosion plating remnants, fuel may leak from where the fuel pressure sensor is attached to the fuel delivery pipe.
  toyota will notify owners, and dealers will clean and reseal the fuel pressure sensor mounting area, free of charge. The recall began march 3, 2015. Owners may contact toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331.

• Recall 86811 [USA]: Improper activation of the steering system protection logic can cause the steering wheel to become off-centered up to 90 degrees. this may occur after the driver has fully turned the steering wheel in one direction then quickly attempts to turn it back to the center position. should this occur while driving, the risk of a crash is increased.
  Toyota is recalling certain model year 2009 and 2010 lexus ls460 and ls600 vehicles manufactured from august 20, 2009 through may 13, 2010. A programming change of the steering control ecu for the variable gear ratio steering (vgrs) system can cause improper activation of the steering system protection logic designed to protect the system when larger than normal steering inputs are applied at a fully turned position.
  toyota will notify owners and lexus dealers will replace the steering control ecu free of charge. The safety recall began on july 12, 2010. Owners may contact toyota at 1-800-331-4331.

  Issue: this recall is for certain block heater kits installed on certain vehicles or sold as accessories at toyota or lexus dealerships. On certain vehicles, the engine block heater cable may not have enough heat protection and could be damaged by high temperatures. If this happens, the cable could short circuit while plugged in, and cause the wiring to overheat or melt. • Recall 2014458 [Canada]: Fuel supply
  On certain vehicles, the fuel delivery pipes in the engine compartment may have been produced with particles from the anti-corrosion plating on the gasket seating surface where the fuel pressure sensor is installed. This could affect the sealing properties of the gasket seated between the pressure sensor and the pipe, potentially resulting in a fuel leak. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source could result in a fire causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: dealers will replace the gasket and repair the gasket seating surface.

  On certain vehicles, the steering control electronic control unit (ecu) programming for the variable gear ratio steering (vgrs) system can cause the steering wheel to become off-centered by up to 90 degrees. Dashboard is sticky/tacky. Dashboard is also very shiny and make it's almost impossible to drive in sunlight. Which is very unsafe

I purchased my 2009 ls460 in 2017 at lexus of huntsville, al with 115k miles. It began having poor acceleration 1 month after i purchased it. I went back to the dealer and expressed my concern. They asked me to start using premium gas form the same station. Nothing changed and 3mo latter i moved to indianapolis and had my lexus serviced at tom wood lexus of indianapolis. I asked them to do a full diagnostic for repairing the now dangerously low acceleration. Tom wood changed and checked fuel filter fuel lines fuel injectors air intake mass airflow air filter reflashed ecm cost me 2 separate visits, 10+ days in a loaner vehicle and $800+ and the issue behind what was causing the low acceleration was never found. So i filed my first complaint case with lexus corporate and they denied my claim in that it was no longer under their powertrain warranty. Despite my effort to simply request and state that i purchased my lexus at a lexus dealer and it has been maintained by a lexus dealer. I ought to be able to rely on lexus (especially an ls on of their high end designs) to be of reasonable quality, fit for safe use as an automobile. The liability for defects of the engineering of the internal mechanics and any future wrecks or injuries caused by the engineering defect is lexus' liability. Just trying to have a safe vehicle for my family. Well that got me nowhere with lexus. Now my job has me lining in louisiana and i tried a second time and took my ls460 to price leblanc lexus of baton rouge. Their service team was fantastic and their tech let me know that this is a known issue with lexus and that i'd need to replace all cylinder heads and values. Total cost being $13-15k. That is more than the value of the vehicle. I have filed a second complaint and repair request with lexus corporate and am being told the same line as before. Not their problem.

At approximately 97k miles while driving on the highway all brake lights illuminated on the dash and a message displayed 'immediately pull over safely and contact your lexus dealer for assistance' i took the car to lexus dealer the next day and after inspection it was determined the brake actuator module failed which automatically makes the abs system inoperable and many other safety features. As abs is required on all vehicles this is a major safety hazard and must be repaired. I learned the company had an 'extended service bulletin for these cars and have sense redesigned this part, however i was notified i was one month and ten days past the ten year 'grace' period of 'vehicle in-service' and i would not qualify for assistance with replacement. This item failing is a major safety hazard and can lead to total brake failure a recall must be issued to ensure safe vehicles on the road, i do not understand how a recall was not issued in the first place it seemes as though the 'warranty enhancement' or 'extended service bulletin'. Was just a way to post pone the problems being addressed properly and the bad pr that comes with a recall.

The vehicle almost caused my elderly parents to get into an accident. The power to the vehicle is lost. The gas pedal would not accelerate and the steering wheel pulled the vehicle to one direction. The car was in motion when the light came on "check vsc" system. Lexus has had a problem with the fuel injectors and sensors before on these vehicles. On ours a recall was said to be needed for the sensor but instead the sensor was just wiped and cleaned and a cover on it was changed. Currently vehicle does not move more then 3mph and occasionally vehicle also shuts off. All lights are lit up on car.

The safety issue our car has is delayed acceleration. This is a very concerning safety hazard. After reading many online forums, there are many other '09 ls owners experienced the same problem. We have brought our car to the lexus dealership a few times and they have not been able to properly fix or even diagnose the cause. There are no lights on the dashboard indicating where the problem lies. All we have been told is that it's in the knock sensor. We have only been told that lexus has designed the knock sensor in such a way that a check engine light or code will not be given. This is not good for us as the customer. We believe this is a urgent recall problem that lexus must own and repair. This is a mayor safety hazard that has potential to put the lives of my family or others at stake.

While driving down the road i had five warning lights to come on a red master warning light red brake warning light electronic control brake warnings yellow abs light and a slip indicator light the next day the lights went out they stayed off approximately 3 days then they came on again that's when i made an appointment with the dealer upon taking the car to the dealer the breaks now are real very sensitive just touch them and they were stop johnson lexus of raleigh diagnose the problem and said i needed a break actuator$4, 300 i researched the problem and found that there was a secondary warranty added because they had so many problems with the actuator but for some reason they will not honor my warranty i meet all the criteria i have a 128000 miles on my car and is less than 10 years old the secondary warranty goes up to 250, 000 miles it's obvious they had problems with the actuator but they would not have had in a extended warranty if there is an extended warranty i feel that they should fix my car before someone gets hurt you cannot replace a life
