• Recall 89261 [USA]: This could result in an underhood fire.
  On certain trucks equipped with a speed control system, the speed control deactivation switch may, under certain conditions, leak internally and then overheat, smoke, or burn.
  dealers will install a fused wiring harness. An interim notice was sent to owners on september 7, 2007, directing them to have the speed deactivation control switch disconnected temporarily. A second notification letter to owners was in february 2008 advising them to return to dealers for installation of the repair part. Owners of affected vehicles who did not receive a phase 2 notice and have not had the recall completed will be notified beginning august 6, 2008. Owners may contact mazda at 1-800-222-5500.

  Vehicle description: light duty trucks equipped with trw seat belt buckle assemblies. The buckle base of these seat belt assemblies were not properly heat treated and therefore do not pass the load bearing requirement of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 209, "seat belt assemblies."
  dealers will inspect the buckle assemblies to determine whether the buckle assembly build date codes are within the suspect range. Those within the suspect date code range will be replaced.

  Carbonised grease may accumulate between the contact points in the ignition switch reducing the insulation performance inside the switch. In this condition the switch may generate heat resulting in smoke and in the worst case a fire.

  On certain vehicles, the speed control deactivation switch may overheat, smoke, or burn, potentially resulting in an underhood fire. Correction: initially as an interim repair, owners will be instructed to return their vehicles to their dealers to have the speed control deactivation switch disconnected. As soon as replacement parts are available, owners will be instructed to return to the dealers for installation of a fused wiring harness designed to eliminate the potential risk of fire.

  Certain pickup trucks equipped with seat belts supplied by trw. It is possible that the driver's and/or front passenger's outboard seat belt buckle may not fully latch. In the event of a crash, the restraint system may not provide adequate occupant protection, increasing the risk of personal injury to the seat occupant. Correction: dealers will inspect the front outboard seat belt buckles and if the buckle fails the inspection process, it will be replaced.

"takata recall" my seat broke from the bottom piece thereon the part that reclines theres a bar that goes across no cant really sit on there right the vehicle wasbnot in motion as it was parked happend when i was getting on...

Tl* the contact owns a 2000 mazda B3000. The contact stated that the vehicle unexpectedly caught on fire while it was parked in a residential driveway. The vehicle was towed to a salvage yard and was not diagnosed to determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the incident. A police/fire report was not filed. The approximate failure mileage was 400,000.

Frame rusted out, rusted tire carrier, and rear leaf spring mounts. Unsafe truck until we temporarily fixed the problem because mazda would not. Frame should last longer than 8 years after being in heated garage. *tr

Consumer inspected vehicle after hearing a loud squeaky noise coming from the front passenger sides. When inspecting he found a loose prematurely rusted lower ball joint with no lubrication and replaced the part. Dealer stated there was never any type of grease fitting which caused rusting. Consumer saved the old rusted lower ball joint part.*ak *sb *nm

Transmission went out at 12-28-04 . Dealer told me i needed a new transmission at a cost of 3800.00 . At speeds high and low it will not shift right. I tried to get help on this problem and mazda corp said it would take a while to maybe solve. *jb

I was involved in an accident and the air bags deployed on the first impact, but when i was rear ended my head was cut open by the plastic cover for the air bag. When i was rear ended a 2nd and 3rd time my nose was cut by the same plastic cover.*ak

While driving a tlow speeds automatic transmission shifted gears. Dealership informed consumer that the problem pertained to the speed sensor, but the problem was not repaired. *ak
