CONDITION
Toyota vehicles are equipped with Supplemental Restraint Systems (SRS), including various airbags and in
some models, seat belt pre-tensioners, to help reduce the risk of injury in a collision. If a customer expresses
any concerns that the SRS airbags or pre-tensioner devices did not perform as expected (including an
unintended deployment event), please follow the steps in the recommendations section below.
RECOMMENDATIONS
1. Open a Repair Order for any vehicle with an SRS performance concern.
2. Record specific details from the customer on the operating conditions when the concern occurred in the
Repair Order.
3. Perform a Techstream HealthCheck and record any stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
4. Open a Technical Assistance case (TAS) with all relevant details and call for diagnostic support.
