• Recall 126776 [USA]: In the event of a crash, deactivated air bags can increase the risk of injury .
  Toyota motor engineering & manufacturing (toyota) is recalling certain 2008-2019 toyota land cruiser and lexus lx 570 vehicles. Over time, the seat belt tension sensor wire harness may break and deactivate the front passenger air bag, knee air bag, and passenger seat-mounted side airbag.
  toyota will notify owners, and dealers will modify the front passenger seat belt assembly or replace it with an improved one, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began february 11, 2019. • Recall 129342 [USA]: An incorrect driver or front passenger air bag may not deploy as intended in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
  Toyota motor engineering & manufacturing (toyota) is recalling certain 2008-2016 toyota land cruiser, 2006 lexus lx470, and 2008-2013 lexus lx570 vehicles. These vehicles may be equipped with an incorrect driver or front passenger air bag. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) number 208, "occupant crash protection."

• Recall 95819 [USA]: A stuck open accelerator pedal may result in very high vehicle speeds and make it difficult to stop the vehicle, which could cause a crash, serious injury or death.
  Toyota is recalling certain model year 2010 lexus rx350 and rx450h vehicles, manufactured from november 28, 2008, through september 1, 2010, and model year 2008 through 2011 toyota land cruiser vehicles manufactured from september 1, 2007, through september 5, 2011. In july 2012, toyota filed a defect report to recall certain model year 2010 lexus rx350 and rx450h vehicles. In november 2012, toyota informed the agency that it was including an additional 10,565 vehicles including certain model year 2008 through 2011 toyota land cruiser vehicles. The total number of vehicles being recalled is now 164,601. The accelerator pedal can get stuck in the wide open position due to its being trapped by an unsecured or incompatible driver's floor mat.
  toyota and lexus will notify owners of affected vehicles and dealers will modify or replace the accelerator pedal and replace any driver's floor mat not specified for the vehicle. Owners of the lexus vehicles were notified during august 2012. Toyota has not yet provided a notification schedule for the additional land cruiser vehicles. • Recall 76835 [USA]: Failure to warn of tire deflations is a non-compliance with fmvss 138 and could lead to tire failure increasing the risk of a crash.
  Toyota is recalling certain model year 2008 through 2011 fj cruiser, land cruiser, tacoma, sequoia and tundra vehicles for failing to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 138, "tire pressure monitoring system (tpms)." when factory-installed wheels and tires were replaced with toyota authorized accessory wheels and lt tires prior to first sale, the tire pressure monitoring systems were not re-calibrated correctly and therefore do not start illuminating the low tire pressure warning telltale at the required minimum activation pressure.
  for the land cruiser, sequoia, tacoma and tundra vehicles, the dealer will re-calibrate the tire pressure monitoring system on affected vehicles and install an updated tire and loading information label at no charge. For the fj cruiser vehicles, the tpms cannot be reset so the electronic control unit (ecu) for the tpms will be replaced. Toyota is currently developing the remedy ecu. If an owner is not certain whether his or her vehicle is equipped with these accessories, please contact any toyota dealer for an inspection at no charge. The safety recall began on march 31, 2011. Tl*the contact owns a 2009 toyota land cruiser. Upon starting the vehicle, there was an unusual increase in engine rpms. The engine was louder than normal and the contact immediately shut off the engine. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for further inspection. The contact confirmed that there were previous instances where the vehicle abnormally accelerated without driver intent. No repairs were made to the vehicle. The failure mileage was 1,200 and the current mileage was 3,000.

Tl*the contact owns a 2009 toyota land cruiser. While driving approximately 65 mph, the vehicle suddenly surged forward. The vehicle would not stop until the contact applied great pressure to the brakes and pulled the accelerator pedal up with his foot. The failure occurred twice. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was informed that the floor mats were the cause of the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 6,000 and the current mileage was approximately 40,000. The vin was unavailable.

Transmission is slipping. Transmission hesitates in low gears going around corners at low speeds. Also, transmission at 75mph cruise momentarily dropped out of gear, engine rpm went up by 500 rpm, and then dropped back into gear. These are have at infrequent and random times. Have been told by dealers that this is drive by wire and that there are many electronic systems involved in controlling the transmission. Have complained to 2 toyota dealers. One told me it was a software issue and that toyota was working on a fix. Second dealer told me that there was no toyota service bulletins on transmission problems. Concern of transmission going out of gear and losing control of vehicle. *tr

I, members of my family and business associates have experienced a sticking accelerator on numerous occasions on my 2009 toyota landcruiser. This was not due to the floor mats. I took the vehicle to the toyota dealer, joe machens, in columbia missouri complaining about the problem. They stated nothing was wrong with the vehicle on several occasions. I requested they escalate the problem to their regional division who stated that i was the only one making this complaint. Clearly, i was not the only one with this problem. I called toyota customer service and issued the same complaint and while they documented my call, did not offer any solutions. There are service documents of my issue with the toyota dealer. This problem occurs at random times, without warning, at all different levels of speed. It is quite frankly, scary. I have tried to lift up the accelerator to see if it was "stuck". The accelerator would move but it won't make a difference on the speed of the vehicle. I firmly believe the problem is electronic. Please understand i am a big fan of the landcruiser line from toyota. I have a 92 lnadcruiser which has 250,000 miles on it. However, please, please, please add the 09 landcruiser to the recall list before it hurts or injuries me or someone else. *tr

New cars with the headlights that come on when the car is started. On 10/12/2008 i found three cars driving with just the front driving lights on at night in lexington, ky. The new cars have the front driving lights that are turned on when the car is started. Owners are seeing the head lights on and think that they have turned the head lights on already. When they have not. This has owners driving at night without tail lights on. Again, the problem is that the tail lights don't turn on with the front lights automatically , and owners are driving without tail lights in the dark. If the car manufacturers have daytime/automatic headlights, then they need to have the tail lights set up to come on automatically also. These were on some high end cars. These are very well educated people. My acura tl and chevy suburban do not have this feature. This was on a nes acura tl, chrysler suv, and toyota fj (which you need to add to you toyota list).
