Many lubricants, cleaners, and automotive chemicals contain silicone or other compounds that may contaminate electrical contacts, and therefore increase electrical resistance and decrease switch performance. The use of any cleaners or fluids may increase the risk of further damage to electrical components. Warranty Information OP CODE DESCRIPTION TIME OFP T1 T2 N/A Not Applicable to Warranty – – – – Precautions The following precautions must be followed to avoid damage to interior electrical components. • DO NOT spray chemicals, lubricants, preservatives, or cleaners directly onto, into, or in the vicinity of electrical components (i.e., brake light, combination, cruise, door lock, window switches, HVAC blower motor, or J/B in engine compartment). • DO NOT attempt to clean a switch that has had liquid spilled on it (i.e., coffee, soda, juice, etc.) with cleaners or lubricants. The affected switch should be replaced. • DO NOT attempt to repair a malfunctioning switch. Replace it. The use of any cleaning fluids may cause additional damage. • DO NOT use sprays containing silicone on or near any switches. This could contaminate the contacts in the switch and lead to a malfunction. • DO NOT use upholstery steam cleaning equipment inside the vehicle, as water vapor could condense inside of electrical components and damage them. © 2015 Toyota Motor Sales, USA Rev2 T-SB-0101-11 August 17, 2011 Page 3 of 3 Interior Electrical Component Precautions Precautions (Continued) NOTICE These are a few examples of the electrical components to avoid damage to.
