Complaint:
If the customer brakes sharply from a speed of > 30mph, without ABS intervention, there is a single cracking noise
from the area of the ESP hydraulic unit.
Cause:
Functional sound from ESP hydraulic unit.
Explanation:
This brake application takes place with a deceleration of > 6m/sec².
To increase braking comfort in terms of straight ahead stability during heavy braking,
the EBD (electronic brake force distribution) regulates the brake pressure at the individual wheels; this results in noises from the hydraulic system as the pressure is being reduced.
Note:
This noise cannot be reproduced if the ESP is deactivated - roller test mode (GF54.30-P-20202FG).
Remedy:
No repair is needed, do not replace parts.
