I-Shift UTCOOL (Europe)
No oil cooling system at the top of the oil filter
housing
Prevost
I-Shift TC-MWO (Europe)
Oil cooling using engine coolant. Two tube
fittings at the top of the oil filter housing.
For this type of transmission, the oil is cooled by
circulating coolant at the top of the filter housing.

AS REPLACEMENT PART
PARTICULARITY – OIL COOLING
I-Shift UTCOOL (Volvo Truck North America)
Threaded holes at the top of the oil filter housing
for connection of oil circuit.
With this configuration, the oil is directed to an
external heat exchanger.

PROCEDURE
PREVOST COACHES
When replacing the IShift transmission on
a Prevost vehicle
Recover the oil filter
housing and upper
part on the old
transmission and
install on the new
transmission. Use a
new filter housing
gasket. Connect the
coolant hoses as with
former installation.
On the new
transmission, remove
and discard the oil
filter housing and its
upper part

Recover the oil filter housing and upper part of the
old transmission and install on the new
transmission. Use a new filter housing gasket
or
When replacing the IShift transmission on
a Volvo 9700
install the new transmission as is with its filter
housing and install an oil circulation loop (see
FIGURE 4).
CAUTION, DO NOT BLOCK THE OIL PORTS AT THE TOP OF
THE FILTER HOUSING. DOING SO WOULD PREVENT OIL
FLOW IN THE TRANSMISSION AND SEVERE DAMAGE
WOULD OCCUR.
