• Recall 251314 [USA]: Seat belts that do not retract or extend may fail to restrain an occupant as intended, increasing the risk of injury in a crash.
  Ford motor company (ford) is recalling certain 2018-2020 expedition and lincoln navigator vehicles. The seat belt pretensioner in the driver and/or front passenger seat may inadvertently deploy and lock the seat belt, which will not allow the belt to retract or extend.
  dealers will inspect and replace the seat belt retractors, as necessary. Additionally, dealers will install an hvac drain tube elbow if it is missing. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Interim owner notification letters explaining the safety risk, were mailed march 6, 2024. A second notice will be sent once remedy parts become available, anticipated second half of 2024. • Recall 242688 [USA]: Without instructions, the head restraints may be improperly adjusted, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash.
  Ford motor company (ford) is recalling certain 2018-2023 expedition and lincoln navigator vehicles equipped with third-row seating; and 2019-2023 f-super duty f-250, f-350, f-450, and f-550 supercab vehicles. The owner's manual does not include instructions for adjusting or removing certain head restraints. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard number 202, "head restraints."
  ford will mail the owner's manual addendums that describe how to adjust and remove the head restraints for the center seating positions, free of charge. • Recall 146118 [USA]: A disconnected toe link can cause a sudden change to vehicle handling, increasing the risk of a crash.
  Ford motor company (ford) is recalling certain 2019 expedition and lincoln navigator vehicles. The rear suspension toe link fasteners may not have been properly tightened to the frame, possibly allowing separation from the frame.
  ford has notified owners, and dealers will inspect and tighten the rear toe link fasteners, check and adjust the rear toe alignment, and inspect the rear tires for abnormal tire wear, replacing them if necessary. • Recall 141730 [USA]: A seat back with an improperly assembled recliner mechanism may have reduced strength and may not adequately restrain an occupant in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
  Ford motor company (ford) is recalling certain 2018-2020 f-150 and 2019-2020 f-250, f-350, f-450, and f-550 super duty pickup trucks, and 2018-2019 ford explorer, 2019-2020 expedition, and 2020 escape vehicles equipped with driver and/or passenger's manual front seat back recliner mechanisms. Also included are certain 2020 ford explorer and lincoln aviator vehicles equipped with rear outboard seats and manual seat back recliner mechanisms. The recliner mechanisms may be missing the third pawl required for seat back strength, resulting in a loose seat back. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) numbers 202, "head restraints" and 207, "seating systems."

• Recall 2020203 [Canada]: Powertrain
  Issue: on certain vehicles, there is a problem with the warnings to tell a driver that the transmission is not in park. When the ignition is turned off, with the driver door closed, the message and chime to warn that the transmission is not in park are only active for 3 seconds. Instead, the chime should sound for 10 seconds and the message should display for 30 minutes. As a result, a driver could exit the vehicle without realizing that the transmission is not in park. If this happens, the vehicle could roll away. Safety risk: unintended vehicle movement could increase the risk of injury and/or a crash. Corrective actions: ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a ford dealer to reprogram the instrument panel cluster.

• Recall 2019437 [Canada]: Seats and restraints
  Issue: on certain vehicles, seats with a manual recliner may not meet the strength requirements of canadian regulations. A seatback with reduced strength may not properly restrain an occupant in a crash. Safety risk: a seatback that moves in a crash could increase the risk of injury. Corrective actions: ford will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a ford or lincoln dealer for an inspection of the driver and front passenger seat recliners. For 2020 model year explorer and aviator, dealers will inspect the rear outboard seats. The seat structures will be replaced as required.

• Seat belt pretensioner inadvertent deployment investigation # PE23021

  The office of defects investigation (odi) has received 10 complaints alleging seat belt pretensioner inadvertent deployment in model year 2019 ford expedition vehicles manufactured by ford motor company. Some complaints allege hearing a loud, explosion-like sound immediately followed by the seatbelt tightening around the occupant’s torso area. The complaints also allege a burning smell and smoke filling the cabin of the vehicle after the incident. The complaints do not allege a crash occurred that may have resulted in the deployment of the pretensioner system. Seat belt pretensioner replacement is required after deployment to restore functionality. Odi is opening this preliminary evaluation (pe) to determine the scope and severity of the potential problem and to fully assess the potential safety-related problems. The rear lift gate randomly opens on the vehicle. Dealership has said it is a defective wiring harness. The lift gate close with people standing at the rear bumper loading items in the back and will continue to fight to continue closing operations. It does the same with opening. Additionally it has opened while sitting in the drivers seat with the key in the car. The car has been stationary for all openings. This has happened on multiple occasions and

Event occurs when vehicle is warmed up - transmission fluid temp > 205 and more likely to occur going uphill or on a slight incline on highway with a speed above 55 mph. When accelerating quickly or aggressively, the 10 speed transmission fails. I push down on the gas pedal while in the 10 gear. It seems like it is stuck in neutral, the engine rev's to the red line if i leave my foot on the pedal, the vehicle looses speed and eventually finds a gear between 2 and 6 and transmission re-engages. The vehicle will rev to the red line before finding a gear. This has created multiple dangerous situations in which a vehicular accident almost occurred due to the immediate loss of speed in highway traffic situations. The vehicle went from 83 mph to 55 in seconds before the transmission re-engages. I have take the car to the dealership twice and they can not recreate the issue in order to fix despite submitting numerous videos of the separate times in which the event occurs. On march 22, 2021, check engine light. Took vehicle to ford dealer. Technician said cam phaser needed to be change. At around 72000 miles. Google search to find out, that is a common problem in the 3.5 eco boost engines. Vehicle was purchased certified used from elder ford tampa, fl with about 33000 miles march 2020. Mall of george ford, diagnose the check engine light.
